The reservation-only period for Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge ends in four days (!!!) on June 23 and park officials are gearing up for the huge crowds they anticipate on June 24th.
To help us all prepare for the land’s general opening, Disneyland has given us some beneficial planning tips! Let’s PUNCH IT!
Boarding Groups
As previously announced, Galaxy’s Edge will utilize a virtual queue system so the land isn’t completely overwhelmed with guests. Before you visit the park, you’ll need to download the Disneyland app. Once you arrive, you can check the app or signs to find out whether you’ll need to join a boarding group to visit the land that day.
The boarding group will save you a spot in line so you can enjoy other experiences in Disneyland, BUT it does NOT guarantee admission to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Continue checking your app or park signs to determine which boarding group is currently being admitted to the land. If you can enable push notifications on your phone, you’ll be alerted when it’s time to enter the land. But don’t stress too much — you’ll have two hours to enter Galaxy’s Edge.
Reservations for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina
Starting June 24, reservations will be required to build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop and to try a concoction at Oga’s Cantina.
You may make reservations beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit. Reservations for both locations will allow entrance to the land, so you will NOT need to join a boarding group in this case.
Note that a credit card is required to book reservations, and that you will be charged $10 per person if you fail to check in for your reservation at Oga’s Cantina. The Disney website also states that guests will be limited to 2 drinks per person, and that parties will be limited to 45 minutes in the cantina. If you don’t check-in for your reservation at Savi’s Workshop, you will be charged a $199.99 no-show charge per builder. Cancellations are not allowed for either of these experiences.
