Editor’s Note 7/2/19: Sam’s Club is no longer selling the Annual Pass, however there are other ticket deals for Sam’s Club members, including on water parks and special events.
When Walt Disney World’s Annual Pass saw a massive price increase of almost 20% recently, we heard from readers and followers who were, understandably, upset. But where there’s a Disney Parks problem, we’re digging up solutions. And this one could save you over $260 on the purchase of your Annual Pass!
Sam’s Club members can now purchase a Platinum Annual Pass or a Platinum Plus Annual Pass for a deep discount. Whereas the price directly from Disney is well over $1100 for an adult Platinum Pass…
…Sam’s Club has Platinum Passes available for just $865.99 — a savings of over $269, per the Sam’s Club website!
The savings is the same on the Platinum Plus Pass, where the Sam’s price is $965.99.
Our calculations worked out to even more than that, but whether you save $269 or $332, it’s a huge savings.
To access this offer, you must be a Sam’s Club member, the cost for which is $45 per year. But if you’re a member (or become one), you can click here to see the Sam’s Club offer, and get ready to calculate some savings!

You guys are a god send. I was so upset with myself for not getting the pass sooner when I knew the prices would go up before Galaxy’s Edge opened. Thank you SOOOO much for this tip!

Can this be applied to a renewal?

I logged into my Sam’s club account online and clicked on your link and didn’t find this pricing at all. I found the pricing to be the same as Disney’s.

DFB, We follow you religiously on social media. This tip alone just saved us 500$ in annual passes. We had let our passes expire and we’re bummed about the price hikes. Thanks again for staying on top of all things Disney!
Kim says
How much are regular tickett prices at Sama Club for Disney World?
DFB Sarah says
Corey, not sure about that…
DFB Sarah says
Brianna, you’ll receive a voucher with a number on it. You can attach that number to your My Disney Experience account, and if you have a reservation already in the system, you’ll get your MagicBand in the mail per usual. If you don’t have a trip in the books, you’ll get a MagicBand when you exchange your voucher for your hard AP.
DFB Sarah says
Naya, no word on this.
DFB Sarah says
April, we’ve checked twice today and seen the reduced prices still in the Sam’s Club system.
Lisa M Sapp says
OMG!!!! Thank you so much!!! I was going to upgrade to APs when we got to Disney in July. Then the price jumped and nearly gave me a heart attack. Your advice on checking into Sam’s is a substantial help for our upcoming trip.
Lisa M Sapp says
Please note you have to be logged into your online Sam’s account to see the special annual pass pricing.
Brianna says
Thank you for this information!
Can you activate the pass at any guest service area? I am planning on going straight to EPCOT when I arrive in September for the Food & Wine Festival.
Michelle D. says
April – in your own post the items list Gate Price and Member Price.
Scan down to member price for the discount. I’m a Sam’s club member and it shows the discount price when I add the tickets to the cart.
gail yanek says
So, if you get one now, when does the “year” start? When you go the first time?
Thanks, Gail
Cori says
Is there a certain membership you need to have? Or is the $45 a year membership ok for this deal?
Brandon says
I have scoured SAMS website and cannot find ANYWHERE about a WDW Annual Pass.
Ryan says
Is this for Florida residents only? Or for anyone?
Lulu says
When do these have to be activated? My current annual pass hoes through year end.
Lisa M Sapp says
To locate the annual pass purchase option at Sams you have login with your ID/password, click on the Travel and Services drop-down menu, choose Travel and Entertainment. When the Travel and Entertainment page comes up, use the search bar to search for Walt Disney World Annual Passes.
Lisa M Sapp says
I was able to get my annual passes. Thanks for the tip!
Erin says
Does it come with all the same perks as the pass purchased directly from Disney? For instance, the select dining and merchandise discounts. Want to make sure I’m getting all the same perks as if I bought directly from Disney. Thanks! Really excited about this opportunity as my pass is going to expire in a month and it would definitely be cheaper to buy it through here. Even the renewal price through Disney is still higher than this.
Natalie says
Thank you so much, this is going to save us hundreds of dollars for our upcoming trip!
Ryan says
Also, does this option give you the FastPass+ booking 60 days in advance? And the discounts for merchandise and food?
Bill says
Only Platinum or are Gold APs offered as well?
Cynthia says
Awesome!! Thanks so much for posting about the annual pass savings at Sam’s Club. I had given up on getting passes for the family after Disney raised the prices, but after reading this, I immediately got my discounted tickets ?.
Eric says
I have 6 day park hoppers that I was planning to upgrade to APs for my wife and I when we go next week and was disappointed in the price hike. I’m assuming this wouldn’t work where we can use our current tickets towards this discounted price and just pay the difference?
Patricia says
AJ and Team,
You just saved me almost $270!! I was sick I had not purchased the AP a week earlier, but you guys have come through again!
Many thanks!
Dawn says
Do you know how long the Sam’s Club voucher for a WDW Annual Pass is valid for. Our trip is not until November but we would love to buy the passes now to take advantage of this amazing offer
DFB Sarah says
Dawn, it doesn’t seem to indicate how long it’ll last. One thing that might be of note to you is that when you purchase with Sam’s Club, you’ll receive a voucher with a confirmation number that will allow you to link it in My Disney Experience, but you won’t actually activate the AP until you go to Guest Services in a Park or Disney Springs — so your AP should start from activation, not from your purchase. That way you’ll have a full year from November rather than from this week or whenever you purchase it. You may want to call Disney to confirm this, but it’s usually how it works.
DFB Sarah says
Eric, I think because the Sam’s Club tickets aren’t directly with Disney (more like a middleman), you would not be able to apply the tickets for the discounted price.
DFB Sarah says
Bill, only Platinum and Platinum Plus appear as options.
DFB Sarah says
Ryan, if you have a trip planned, you can add the voucher confirmation number to your My Disney Experience and still make your FP+ plans at 60-days-out. (You’ll still need to exchange the voucher for a hard AP at Guest Services when you arrive.) As for food and merchandise: once you have the hard AP in hand, it’ll have all the same perks!
DFB Sarah says
Erin, yes! Once you exchange your voucher from Sam’s for your hard AP, it’ll have all the perks!
DFB Sarah says
Lulu, not sure if there’s an expiration on the activation. Typically they are valid for long periods of time; for example, if you buy a voucher from Disney directly (for full price, of course), it’s good for over a decade. So that said, if you purchase a discounted AP now, you’ll receive a voucher via email. That voucher will need to be activated at Guest Services at a Park or Disney Springs and should be valid from your ACTIVATION date, not your purchase date.
DFB Sarah says
Ryan, it’s for anyone who’s a member of Sam’s!
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, did you click the link we provided toward the end of the post? You’ll see the pass screen there. At least one reader in this comment thread has listed the steps you’ll need to take once you log in as a member if you choose to do it that way.
DFB Sarah says
Cori, the $45 membership is sufficient!
DFB Sarah says
Gail, typically when you redeem the voucher at Guest Services in a Park or Disney Springs, your year starts from activation, not date of purchase.
DFB Sarah says
Brianna — yes! Guest Relations at Parks or Disney Springs!
Ryan says
Thank you sooooo much!!! You have made my vacation planning so easy for me. I am planning a big vacation for my family and I am NOT a planner. I feel so successful with the help of DFB.
Karen, Disney fan from Ohio says
This makes it worth getting a Sam’s membership just for getting APs (I’m a BJ’s Wholesale Club girl) ☺
Thanks AJ & DFB Team!!
Dawn says
Thank you Sarah for your reply. Sadly just went in to purchase Sam’s Club Membership and it will not allow a non US billing address for my card payment, so sadly I am going to have to pay Disney prices for renewal.
Kimberly Schmidt says
Hi Sarah! I just spoke with Sam’s Club and they said the current AP voucher is only good until 12/31/19. Has anyone gotten their voucher yet to confirm what expiration date is actually on it? I don’t want to activate mine until September/October 2020.
Linda says
I am questioning same situation as Eric – if you have a trip bought and paid for and have a 10 day hopper attached to your package there is no way to have that ticket cost deducted from annual pass whereas you would pay the remaining balance
Brandon says
I currently have an AP. Technically it doesn’t exist pure until Feb 27th. What if I purchase the AP voucher from Sams before mine expires.
Will I be able to wait until Feb 2020 to activate it?
Lisa M Sapp says
I just recently purchased APs from Sam’s and linked them in My Disney Experience. It says in My Disney Experience that the expiration (IE the latest to turn in voucher and activate your card) is December 2030 which is the same as the AP I bought directly from Disney before the prices jumped.
Brandon says
Maybe I’m getting confused on how this “Voucher” system works.
So you can link it to your MyDisney account without “Activating” it?
And someone said the Voucher must be activated before Dec 2030? Did I read that right?
So theoretically, I could buy a Voucher for the Annual Pass right now (Today… June 26th).
But not activate it till Feb 27th 2020 (The day my current AP expires), and I wouldn’t have any problems?
I’m so confused.
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, all of that seems to be correct. The voucher includes a number you can enter in MDE to essentially attach your AP so that you can make FP+ reservations at 60-days out (which you wouldn’t necessarily need since you already have an AP). Then you’ll head to Guest Services when you’re ready to activate it (what I’ve seen online is the 2030 date, but we haven’t confirmed that).
