Fun news tonight, my friends! We’ve been on the lookout for several changes around Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel recently, including the newly re-opened Tangaroa Terrace and the refurbished White Water Snacks. But possibly the most highly anticipated change was the brand new hotel pool bar — and we’ve got a FIRST LOOK for you tonight!
The new pool bar was designed to incorporate natural boulder stonework, a custom mural, and trellis work for shade. You can see the definite Craftsman-style influence — in keeping with the hotel’s look and feel — throughout the photos below.
While the bar isn’t officially open yet, you can see comfortable lounge chairs and sofas, heavy wood tables and chairs, and craftsman style lanterns hanging from the trellis above. It’s giving a definite Geyser Point feel (the Pool Bar and Lounge at Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge), and we love it!
Guests will be able to order from a full bar as well as enjoy appetizers from the menu. It looks like a welcome addition to the deluxe-level hotel’s pool area and we’ll be back soon with a full review!
Let us know your thoughts on the new space!

Such a waste of good pool space. The pool just keeps getting smaller and smaller at the grand.

Absolutely stunning! We were so hoping this would be finished when we went at the end of May. Guess it’s another reason to go back!
Mike says
Beautiful! I love it! Is it for hotel guests only? I assume yes, but don’t see that confirmation in this article.
DFB Sarah says
Mike, anyone can go!

It’s really too bad they removed so much seating at the GCH. It was so difficult to find a poolside lounge before, I can only imagine how hard it will be now. Makes it fairly hard to justify charging guests so much when they cannot access the hotel’s pool.
