Welcome back to another What’s New coming at you from Disneyland Resort
where we took a loooooong stroll through both Parks, Downtown Disney, and the Grand Californian Hotel to bring you food updates, new merchandise, construction progress, and — this time! — loads of character pics, including this guy.
He won’t be buying everyone churros after the What’s New, but he’s still fun. 😉
Disneyland Resort Food Updates
Disneyland Park Food Update
Disneyland Park didn’t have much new going on, but we couldn’t help but stop into Candy Palace to re-try one of our favorite treats — the Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Bar (on a stick!).
It’s ooey, gooey, and not stingy on the sea salt!
And don’t forget to grab your Apple Pie Sundae if you’re at Gibson Girl! Yep, they’re BACK, but for a limited time! And they may run out from time to time, but it should be around until the end of the month. See our full review here!
Disney California Adventure Park Food Update
The churro cart in Hollywood Land is crushing the Infinity Gauntlet churro game with the Soul Stone Churro.
This Avengers-inspired churro is our favorite one so far. The orange flavor actually really comes through. See our review here!
Pacific Wharf Cafe is dishing up cheesecake bread pudding for its seasonal treat, and you’ll want to click here to see why we said this was the best bread pudding yet to come out of the Cafe!
Hollywood Lounge has a Firecracker Mojito that’s bursting with blueberries and strawberry popping pearls.
We found the drink to be super refreshing — and we loved the sensation of the popping pearls with their little burst of flavor, too! See our full review here!
Award Wieners has a funky Summer Picnic Dog right now. It’s topped with creamy macaroni salad (!!), BBQ sauce, and crumbled potato chips.
Grand Californian Hotel Food Updates
At White Water Snacks (soon to be Craftsman Grill), the Hot Dog of the Month is a Street Corn Dog.
What a delicious mess this is with its abundance of toppings! Read our full review here!
Disneyland Resort Construction Updates
Surface construction continues in the area of the Mickey & Pals and Pixar Pals parking structures. As you can see, foot traffic is flowing around this expansive construction site.
We’ll keep an eye on the work as it progresses.
In Downtown Disney, we had to snap a few shots of these fun flower art displays! Some of our favorite Disney friends have been deconstructed and arranged so that if you find just the right angle, you can put them back together again! 😉
We’re pretty sure Minnie is after a macaron, which is one of the many reasons why we love her so.
Donald is quackin’ up here, that much is for certain.
Daisy is looking fresh and fabulous.
And Pluto can’t quite get his paws on these mischievous chipmunks!
Disneyland Resort Merchandise Updates
Disneyland Park Merchandise
There was a merchandise explosion onto the shelves of Disneyland Resort this week, and coffee mugs are leading the charge. We found these at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.
The Disneyland Resort mug features lots of icons, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and Dumbo!
California Adventure Park isn’t left out! The Incredicoaster, Cars Land, and Carthay Circle are prominent features on this side of the mug.
Meanwhile, Hades wants you to know that “we go home happy.” Except going home means leaving the Park, and what’s so happy about that? No wonder he’s a villain…
Grumpy is pretty self-explanatory, but let’s just say we all know someone who needs this mug.
The Little Mermaid is everywhere right now… including on this mug! Ursula knows life is full of tough choices, the most immediate of which is how to make more room on our mug shelves. (Yeah, that’s shelves with an S.)
Mickey and Pluto need to hit the snooze button or load up on some caffeine.
But Minnie and Figaro are already slaying the day.
And are we the only ones who don’t think it’s advisable to put the snowman Olaf on a mug intended for hot fluids? Elsa, a little help here!
All the mugs we’ve seen so far are $16.99, but this next one… shaped like a peanut and featuring Chip ‘n’ Dale… is $19.99. Must be that hourglass figure.
But we think we saved the best mug for last because it’s not just the Hatbox Ghost from Haunted Mansion.
It’s the Hatbox Ghost throwing shade at the Mad Hatter! Wut, wuuuut!
The Emporium also has these colorful long-sleeve Disneyland tees. We recently spotted the Disney World version in Disney Springs, so we figured it was only a matter of time until they came west.
Disneyana in Disneyland Park has two Haunted Mansion Passholder-exclusive shirts on display. We love the tank with all those ghastly figures!
Over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the special edition gift card is back! We found some in the Rebel section of the new land. Find out more here.
New Century Jewelry has three playful new designs. Two of them are friendship necklaces, including this Wreck-It Ralph design!
And we hope all of your friends help you achieve “Hakuna Matata” levels!
Finally, how about some little blue alien earrings with a matching necklace? Stitch is adorable in his own way, isn’t he?
There is fun dog gear all over Disneyland Resort. At Toontown’s Five and Dime, we found these super cute collar accessories! We’re already daydreaming about how else we could use them…
And this mat and bowl gear has some of our favorite things on it! (The dog bowl and mat are sold separately, FYI.)
At Critter Country, merchandise celebrates Splash Mountain’s 30th anniversary! Zipadeedoodah, indeed!
Disney California Adventure Park Merchandise
Elias & Co.
has some fun Aladdin-themed merch. This power hoodie features the movie’s antagonist, Jafar.
And Jasmine rules this teal sweatshirt with lots of little details.
Los Feliz Five & Dime has more dog gear. How about matching tees for humans and pups?
Or this Pluto tee for the pups that declares “It’s ruff being tough!”
Downtown Disney Merchandise
The Disney at Home store has a display of Pink Castle Disney Tails gear. From balls to harnesses to leads to collars, there’s something for every diva dog!
The Dress Shop has a lovely Minnie Mouse dress. We previously found it in Disney World’s Dress Shop. This has almost a boat-neck neckline and plenty of polka dots!
There’s even a bow detail on the back. Very sweet.
World of Disney has all the Disney leggings you could ever want. We do like these colorful small world leggings.
And the Mickey balloon leggings are super fun.
But for our snack-lovin’ selves, it’s the Disney Parks snack leggings all the way! Click here for all the details — and more designs!
The Little Mermaid is swimming onto shelves and racks all over the Disney Parks right now, and these mermaid scale leggings are one of the most extreme items for sale.
We love this colorful tank, complete with loads of glitter!
The “I’m really a mermaid” tee is fun with some embroidery and sequins.
And this hoodie has a big ol’ “A” for Ariel! (How fun would this be if your little’s name was Ariel, though, right?!)
The classic VHS cover makes a splash on this tee shirt.
This ball cap certainly makes waves… and probably leaves behind a trail of fallen sequins — but no judgment (just sparkles).
Now for something you really MUST have: Mermaid tail socks! These are $13.99 and worth every penny! We know you’re really a mermaid!
Likewise for the Ariel and Ursula socks! We’re loving the vibrant colors on these!
For her “mermaid hair don’t care” attitude, there’s a light-up bow, complete with a dinglehopper.
And you can check out your mane (wrong movie but what is her mermaid hair if not a glorious mane?!) with this compact mirror.
Write all of your hopes and dreams in this journal…
…then make them happen with a luggage tag that shows the world you’ve got everything you need. (I know that’s right!)
Finally, drink out of the bottom half of a mermaid because that’s not weird at all.
And we’re back on land, where you can get these lovely Disney Parks hair ties! They’re also at World of Disney.
And rounding out our World of Disney stash: the Alex & Ani bangle princess collection. We love them all, but our personal favorites are the Belle and Ariel bangles!
Your Disneyland Character Moment of Zen
And finally, some characters for your Disneyland Resort moment(s) of zen! First, the main mouse:
And now Oswald, posing for his full-body shot.
And muggin’ for his close up!
Goofy threw us a wave on his way by.
And the Black Panther is always ready. And also now meeting fans! Find out where here!
And finally, we leave you with these fellows. They’re not expressly characters, but they sure have character. The Dapper Dans!
And that’s it! We hope the harmony of this What’s New hit all the right notes. Please join us next time for more What’s New from the Disney Parks!

I Loved the Cheesecake bread pudding at the Pacific Warf Cafe and I told the Disneyland Resort survey that DGB guide recommended it.

Is there not a way to order Disneyland merch anymore?? They killed the app, they took away the merch mail order phone line, and shopdisney.com is useless as it carries very little of any of it. Seems like its all going several steps backwards anymore.
DFB Sarah says
Stephanie, she definitely does.
