The 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival kicks off August 29, 2019, and runs for a record 87 days until November 23 — the longest Food and Wine Festival to date!
We LOVE all the new eats and sips that come to the Festival each year (click HERE to see the booth menus and food photos for this year!) — but there are a few items from years past that we really miss and wish would come back, if only for one last hurrah!
Luckily, we’ve got some authentic Disney recipes you can use TODAY to make these dishes at home!
Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey
When this dish debuted at the Greece booth in 2011 it was a sleeper hit! The dish featured kasseri cheese grilled up and slathered in sweet honey and crunchy pistachios! The combination of flavors and textures was the kind of indulgent, cheesy offering we couldn’t resist.
We loved the Griddled Greek Cheese every year it was on the menu in Greece, and we were disappointed when it vanished in 2015. And this year, the Greece booth has vanished from the Festival entirely!
If you’re really missing the griddled cheese, you can make it at home with our Festival recipe!
Kielbasa & Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream
The Poland booth debuted in 1996 and was a staple of the Festival for ten years! The Kielbasa & Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream was a Festival favorite for us – and we have a recipe so you can still make them at home!
Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s Pie
The Ireland Marketplace Booth is always one of our must-visit booths during the Food and Wine Festival.
One of the most popular dishes at the Ireland booth was the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s Pie (which was later changed to Lobster and Seafood Fisherman’s Pie). This must-have dish featured Scallops and Lobster in a Lobster Bisque topped with Buttery Mashed Potatoes — and it was to die for. Sadly it vanished completely from the Ireland booth in 2017.
If you find yourself craving the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s Pie (it’s like we’re looking in a mirror…) you can still make it at home with this authentic recipe. Meanwhile, we’ll keep hoping it returns to the Festival someday.
Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli with Rustic Tomato Sauce
Back in 2015 when The Chew was a popular daytime cooking show on ABC, two new booths debuted at the Food and Wine Festival – Sustainable Chew and Chew Lab.
While these booths existed at the Festival, we enjoyed the Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli with Rustic Tomato Sauce!
If you find yourself craving the Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli with Rustic Tomato Sauce, we have the recipe here.
So with these recipes, we can have the best of both words! Our favorites from yesteryear at home, and then all the new eats and options at this year’s festival! Win-win! Click here for our food booths, menus, and food pics for the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

As a vegan, the loss of the Greek loaded “nachos” is sad. But lots of new options this year, including items featuring the Impossible Burger.
I have Disney’s recipe for the nachos from the Festival book, but here’s a publicly available version that may be of interest to others. I haven’t tried either one. https://vegandisneyworld.com/2017/11/04/recipe-loaded-greek-nachos/

I really miss the Chicken Boa Buns with that yummy sauce and crunchy noodles. I wish they would bring that back. And the escargots in brioche…so much butter and garlic.

I happened to run into the head chef for F&W at Epcot one day. I expressed my deep dismay at the loss of the griddled greek cheese. He told me that they had issues sourcing enough Kasseri cheese to meet the quantities they required! I imagine cost was probably an issue too, though he didn’t say so.

So upset to see Greece gone this year. I know they like trying new things but Greece and Poland are sorely missed
