Grim grinning ghosts will materialize for the 50th Anniversary of the Haunted Mansion!

Yes, that’s right, our beloved Mansion, which originated in Disneyland, has been searching for its 1,000th happy haunt for 50 years. And to celebrate this HUGE day, both Disney World and Disneyland will be selling exclusive Mansion merch.

Before we dive into merchandise, let’s take a look at the Disney World-exclusive Ghost-A-Host Cupcake. This is a chocolate cupcake with chocolate truffle filling, crispy pearls, buttercream icing, and a milk chocolate piece! This cupcake will be available at the ice cream cart near Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion.

Merchandise

Now, let’s check out the merchandise! Many of these items will be available at both Disney World and Disneyland.

Have you ever wanted to be a caretaker for one of the Haunted Mansion’s happy haunts? Well, now you can with a Host A Ghost. According to Disney, “with a ghostly giggle and a simple tap on these jars, Madame Leota will conjure your spirit to materialize for you.” The spirits you will be able to choose from include Constance Hatchaway, Professor Phineas Plump, The Hatbox Ghost, and more. You can find these at the “dedicated cart in New Orleans Square” in Disneyland or at Memento Mori in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

You’ll also receive a death certificate for the spirit you choose.

At Memento Mori in Disney World, be on the lookout for a light-up headband.

Here, you will also find a toy replica of a doom buggy that glows and features a new sound! Memento Mori will also be selling the Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary ornament.

At La Mascarade d’Orleans in Disneyland and Memento Mori in Disney World, you will find ghoulish delights like these Haunted Mansion t-shirts and the 50th-anniversary ear hat.

Also, be on the lookout for a Pandora charm, an Alex and Ani charm set, and exclusive pins.

Hop on your Doom Buggy and head over to the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Disney World for your Haunted Mansion-inspired Dooney & Bourke Collection. And Annual Passholders, listen up!! There will also be an exclusive satchel just for AP’s.

Head to Frontier Trading Post in Disney World to find a “commemorative “day of” pin, the mystery pin collection and a glow in the dark Madame Leota Funko Pop!”

According to Walt Disney World, this Haunted Mansion merchandise will materialize at 7:45 AM on August 9th. Guests will also have early access to the Haunted Mansion at this time.

This anniversary celebration will take place on August 9th at both Disney World and Disneyland.

Both Disney World and Disneyland will be hosting After Hours Events the night of the anniversary. Guests can attend the Villains After Hours event in Disney World (which you can read more about here)! And guests at Disneyland Resort can attend “The Haunted Mansion: Celebrating 50 Years of Retirement Unliving” event. Guests who attended either of these events on August 8th will have early access to the Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary merchandise.
