Welcome to our latest update of What’s New in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We’ve got lots of construction, merch, and food updates to tell you about, so let’s get started!
Hollywood Studios Construction Update
Entrance
On the way into the park for the day, we noticed that signs have been added above the Bag Check area.
It also looked like the extended covered section that has been under construction may be complete, but it isn’t open quite yet.
We’re guessing it will be open soon since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in less than a month!
We also saw that the Hollywood Studios Cast Member costumes have been updated! What do you think about them?
Thanks to the wonderful Cast Member Maddy for letting us take this adorable picture!
Commissary Lane
We’ve seen lot of unknown construction going on across from the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.
Some of the walls have started to come down, but lots of foliage was still blocking the area when we were there.
Although we aren’t necessarily sure what the construction is for, we are anticipating its reveal!
What do you think it could be??
Animation Courtyard
When we visited Hollywood Studios, The Voyage of The Little Mermaid was closed for minor refurbishments, but now it seems to be open again according to Disney World’s website!
While the attraction was closed, guests could meet Ariel and Eric outside the theater’s entrance at various times throughout the day.
Galaxy’s Edge
We’re getting closer and closer to the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios on August 29th! We were excited to catch a glimpse of the entrance!
Curious about what you can expect in the new land? A few members of our extended DFB family were able to travel to the Black Spire Outpost!
Check out what our team members thought about Oga’s Cantina, boozy Blue and Green Milk, the Coruscant Cooler, and the Takodana Quencher!
Hollywood Studios Food Update
Hollywood Boulevard
Over at Hollywood Brown Derby, we discovered a new item on the dessert menu — the Chocolate Coconut Cake! The coconut-chocolate cake is covered in chocolate sauce, hazelnut cream, and fresh raspberries for $12.
We might have just heard our stomachs growl a little bit…
Echo Lake
We’ve been on the lookout for one of our favorite droids, and we saw that the BB-8 Steins are back at Peevy’s Polar Pipeline!
Welcome back, little guy!!
Hollywood Studios Merch Update

Is Disney really trying to make themselves only accessible for the rich and famous??? I own the vacation club but can’t afford the increases of ticket prices again the middle class suffers Walt Disney had a fabulous idea for all families to enjoy but now to enjoy it you have to be rich . Buying into DVC was so it would be affordable in years to come but when purchasing membership you must take into consideration travel and tickets not to mention food each time u go so now with more hotels means more people less availed dining reservations less availability for fas passes and more money to get in. Cheaper to take family on a cruise or go to an all inclusive island vacation THANKS DISNEY FOR RUINING a MANS DREAM. And by the way you seem to have gone backwards by making FP in tiers like the old ticket booklets with Epas Apass etc

The rock n roller coaster merchandise looks great.. however it doesn’t mention Aerosmith .. I wonder if Disney is planning on getting rid of that theme and replace it
