Yippee! The opening of the Disney World Skyliner Gondola System is almost here.
This new form of Disney World transportation is set to open on September 29th, 2019!!
A lot of progress has been made since the last time we visited Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Art of Animation, so let’s check it all out together.
Let’s Get Things Started at Caribbean Beach
We spotted lots of construction going on around the Caribbean Beach Skyliner Station.
But, we saw some signage, which is really exciting! They were also testing the gondolas during our visit.
The Skyliners Are Making a POP at Pop Century
More gondola testing was taking place over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
And we couldn’t help but get giddy over all of the themed wraps on the gondolas. Which character’s gondola do you want to ride?
You can take a peek at a few of the character wraps here!
Construction workers were also in the area!
New signs have started to POP up in the areas surrounding the Skyliner station. They weren’t finished just yet when we were there, but we love the bright and fun colors!
Now Let’s Head Over to Disney’s Riviera Resort
We love the look of the Riviera Resort Skyliner Station. It’s so sleek and unique, which makes us really excited to see what the inside of the resort is going to look like when it opens in December.
You can read more about Disney’s NEW Riviera Resort here!
We noticed some signage at this location too!
The anticipation of the grand openings for the Skyliner and Disney’s Riviera Resort is getting overwhelming, isn’t it?! We cannot wait to see if they’re worth the hype!
And Last But Not Least, Disney’s Art of Animation
We saw additional Gondola testing over at Disney’s Art of Animation. We’re still really interested to see how the ventilation is going to work. You can read more about the interior of the Skyliner Gondolas here!
Signage also popped up over here too! There were still a few cones and other bits of construction in the area.
The Skyliner also popped up on the My Disney Experience App this week. You can check that out here!
Skyliner Stations will be found at Caribbean Beach Resort, Epcot’s International Gateway, and Hollywood Studios. They will also connect Pop Century, Art of Animation, and the new DVC Resort — Disney Riviera Resort. Be on the lookout for more construction updates from all of these locations as the opening date continues to inch closer.

Roz says
How many people do each Gondola hold ? We have 4 adults and two small children going in November.
Roxane Erickson says
Roz: They hold 10 people each.
I’m concerned about the air flow & temperature in these. I sure hope they test them with employees on very hot days.
Erin says
Roxane – that’s my concern too. And when/if they break down or have to stop for any extended period of time, that will cause the temperature in that small space to rise even higher. That could lead to people having health issues inside them with heat exhaustion, etc. Not sure they thought that one through enough.
