The Disney World Skyliner Gondola System will officially take to the skies on September 29th, 2019.
This new method of Disney transportation will transport guests to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s new Riviera Resort.
We have already had the opportunity to see inside the gondolas and we have been checking out the construction progress to see how far the system is coming along as we inch closer to the opening date. But now it’s time to check out the costumes the Skyliner Cast Members will be wearing.
The designers of these costumes wanted them to have a mid-century modern look and feature many of the same sleek curved lines as the gondolas themselves. The costumes give a nod to mid-’60s airline travel, which we think is a ton of fun.
They also took inspiration from the colors used on the gondolas themselves. The men will wear the tangerine orange color while the ladies will wear the turquoise blue.
Disney has tried their best to make these costumes breathable and comfortable, while still making sure they coordinate with the theme of the Disney Skyliner. To learn more about how Disney created these costumes — check out the video below!
We cannot wait to see how this new way of travel at Disney World impacts our experience!
