Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019

has officially kicked off, and while we know it seems a little strange to be saying “trick or treat” in the heart of swimsuit season, we all know the main mouse loves a good party. And with tickets available for the Halloween celebration, we have to admit: we’re looking forward to Fall’s early arrival in Magic Kingdom!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a fun and festive hard-ticketed event (that means you need to purchase a separate ticket to attend). The party includes rare character meet and greets, awesome party treats, stellar Halloween entertainment, and candy (lots and lots of candy!).

Buy a Separate Ticket

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party requires a separate ticket (but does not require regular Park admission). You’ll want to buy your ticket ahead of time (to be safe), but tickets are available at the Park, too, when the party isn’t sold out. You can find out more about purchasing your tickets here!

Only 20,000 tickets are sold for each night of the party, so beware: if you want to attend a party close to Halloween proper, definitely buy your ticket ahead of time because those parties do sell out.

Dates and Times

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party officially starts at 7PM on party nights — with regular park guests being ushered out around 6PM. In the past, those with Halloween Party tickets/wristbands have been allowed to enter the park at 4PM (we saw this in place on the first night of the Party in 2019, too). However, things at Walt Disney World are always subject to change, so don’t rely on that 4PM entry.

For 2019, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on the following dates:

• August – 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30
• September – 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27 and 29
• October – 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 29 and 31
• November 1

Dressing Up in Costume

Guests attending the Halloween Party are allowed — and encouraged — to dress up. But for guests 14 and older, there are some rules. You’ll want to check party details for specifics, but some of those rules include no masks, no layers, and some character-specific limitations.

Otherwise — have fun! We’ve seen families with themed costumes, couples representing famous Disney duos, and plenty of cute kids evoking their favorite characters!

Rides and Attractions

Magic Kingdom rides and attractions do run throughout the party, but your Halloween Party time might be better spent on the party-exclusive entertainment and activities rather than enjoying rides you can jump on any day.

If you do enter the park before the start of the party, you can use those hours to ride some of your favorites or grab a meal, thus freeing up your party time for party things!

Halloween Party Eats and Treats

Food is available throughout the party all over the park — at table service and quick service locations as well as Trick or Treat locations!

That’s right: you can Trick or Treat during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party — and you’ll definitely want to! When you check in, you’ll get a treat bag, and all you have to do is hit up as many candy spots as you desire. New in 2019, cast members handed out a pre-packaged bag of candy with your trick-or-treat bag, too, so the candy collecting starts right away!

As you stop at trick-or-treat locations throughout the Party, cast members will load you up with quality candy like M&Ms, Skittles, Milky Way Bars, and more! (It’s not unheard of to fill your bag with just a few stops; cast members are very generous with the candy!)

When you’re not snagging that candy, grab specialty party eats! These are pastries and desserts made exclusively for the party, and they’re not your average cupcakes, y’all! In 2019, we snacked on the Headless Horseman Pumpkin Cheesecake at Sleepy Hollow and sliced into Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake in Liberty Square (find this at the popcorn cart!)! There are also Halloween treats available all day long — not just during the party hours — like the perennially delicious Halloween Cinnamon Roll (which we love!).

This year there’s also a Sanderson Sisters-themed cupcake at Main Street Bakery — the Amuck, Amuck, Amuck Cupcake. See our review here to decide if you want to let it cast a spell on you!

And for the love of all that’s pumpkin spice, Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies has TWO all-day offerings: a Pumpkin Spice Sundae with caramel sauce and a Pumpkin Spice Milkshake with a Mickey marshmallow!

Of course, you can always find holiday-specific treats at popular spots like the Main Street Confectionery and Storybook Treats!

One of the great things about partying at the Magic Kingdom for Halloween is the availability of allergen-free treats in various Park locations. These locations will be marked on your party map, but they’re usually at Town Hall and in the Liberty Square.

Those in need of alternative treats will receive tokens, which they then turn in for lots of specialty candies, cookies, and non-food items. In 2019, we spotted sugar free options from Werther’s Originals and various allergen-free treats from Gogo Squeez, enjoy life, and YumEarth.

It’s a terrific way to make sure that every member of your party can enjoy themselves!

Entertainment

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is known for its world-class, only-available-here entertainment. You’ll definitely want to check out the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade that runs at 9:15 and 11:15 — and stake out your spot before the parade begins! That’s how you can guarantee you’ll see the infamous Headless Horseman, who opens the parade by taking a ride on horseback through the parade route!

The Horseman is followed by the Gravediggers with their clanging shovels and lots of Disney Villains, including the Evil Queen!

You’ll also want to catch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular in front of the castle at 8:15, 10:45, or Midnight. This musical extravaganza features the sisters of Hocus Pocus and even more villains! This show is a ton of freaky fun, and with three showings, it’s not too difficult to squeeze it into your night.

Remember that the last show is typically the least crowded, so you might slide on over to the Castle after the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade’s second run.

The big news of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019 is an ALL-NEW fireworks spectacular! Disney’s Not-So-Scary Spooktacular is hosted by Jack Skellington (!!) and features his pup Zero!

Mickey, Minnie, and their pals embark on an epic adventure that involves villains, spooks, and plenty of pyrotechnics — not to mention some truly impressive projections!

This highly anticipated replacement for the popular HalloWishes show is the first new Party fireworks show in 14 years! The Not-So-Scary Spooktacular blasts off at 10:15PM every Party night. And while the 360-degree show is visible from around the Park, to see those projections on the Castle requires a spot in the Hub or Main Street, U.S.A. But it’s worth the effort!

In addition to the big shows on the Castle stage and in the skies over Magic Kingdom, guests can enjoy shows and interactions all over the Park. New in 2019: Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor is a non-stop gas as the Monsters try to learn more about the Human World’s Halloween traditions!

Stop in for a few minutes or stay for a while as the Monsters keep their audience laughing (and collect some laugh energy in the process!). Guests get candy on the way into the show and on their way out. Click here for more details!

In addition to on-going laughs with the Monsters, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party also has a few themed dance parties where guests can boogie off all that sugar energy!

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has the DescenDANCE Party from 7PM to midnight.

And Storybook Circus is throwing the Disney Junior Dance Party with animated favorites like Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and Doc McStuffins!

This light-hearted bash also runs continually from 7PM to midnight.

And at the Rockettower Stage in Tomorrowland, the Scream-O-Ween Dance Party pumps up the jam and the fun with characters like Mike and Sully!

If you’re hitting up some attractions and rides during the Party, be sure to seek out ones with a Halloween overlay! The Mad Tea Cups get a flashy light show and spooky tunes (we even heard “Grim, Grinning Ghosts!)!

Space Mountain has gone completely dark inside with a new Halloween-o-rrific soundtrack! Note that this ride (unsurprisingly) had a long wait the entire night we were there, so budget in at least 45-60 minutes to wait here! (Better yet, hit it right at the end of the Party so you don’t have to spend valuable Party time in queue!)

And Pirates of the Caribbean is getting the real-life pirate treatment (similar to Villains After Hours!)! We spied these scallywags in the queue and on the ride itself!

And don’t forget: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party also brings out some rare characters like Jack and Sally (whose line tends to be enormous!); Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and the Queen of Hearts; and Winnie the Pooh friends! Peruse your Party map for character locations!

Merchandise

Finally, don’t forget to browse that party-exclusive merchandise, including tee shirts, pins, and limited-edition Magic Bands.
