Welcome to our latest update of What’s New at Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts!
Today we’ll tell you about some fun new cupcakes, Halloween merchandise, and more!
Let’s kick things off at Pop Century Resort.
Pop Century Resort Food Update
At Everything POP Food Court, we found a pair of new cupcakes — the Bubble, Apple, Toil, and Trouble Cupcake and the Chewbacca Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcake. You can grab each of these treats for $5.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
The Bubble, Apple, Toil, and Trouble Cupcake consists of yellow cake with a caramel apple filling, complete with green apples. It’s topped with vanilla buttercream, candied eyes, a sugar bone, sprinkles, and a gummy worm. We enjoyed the toppings and fillings, but the cupcake as a whole was not our favorite.

The Chewbacca Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcake is made with chocolate hazelnut cake and a chocolate hazelnut filling. It is topped with chocolate buttercream frosting and two white chocolate and milk chocolate sticks. We thought this cupcake was cute and yummy, but it was very messy.

We noticed several menu changes at Everything POP. According to a Cast Member, these changes were implemented earlier this week.
For starters, they’ve made some changes to the pizza. Servings of pizza are now large rectangular pieces and are made fresh on property. Previously, their pizza was frozen and served in traditional slices. There is now a Large Pizza Dinner option for $29.99, which includes pizza, a Caesar side salad, and breadsticks for 6 people.
Chicken Noodle and Tomato Basil soups have been removed from the menu, but the Vegetable Soup and Potato Soup with Bacon are still on the menu at the same price. There were several price changes, though. The Turkey Sandwich has increased in price from $10.99 to $11.99, while the Mickey-shaped Waffles increased from $8.29 to $9.99.
Next up, the Applewood-Smoked Bacon Cheddar Burger increased in price from $13.99 to $14.49.
The Plant-based Burger went up in price from $12.49 to $13.99, while the Chicken Tenders went DOWN in price from $10.99 to $10.49. Also, what was previously called the Cheddar Burger is now the Classic Cheeseburger.
The biggest change to Everything POP’s menu is the removal of the create-your-own salad option. Guests can now choose from refrigerated Caesar salads and garden salads.
Each salad comes with your choice of chicken or shrimp, though the shrimp was labeled as chicken during our visit. Both salad choices are $11.49.
Pop Century Resort Construction Update
During our visit, walls were still blocking the Pop Century side of the Skyliner station. The new transportation system is set to open September 29th, so we’re hoping they’ll post more information soon!
Pop Century Resort Merchandise Update
Everything POP had a small Halloween merchandise display, but we’d already seen these items around Disney World property.
Everything POP was also displaying a sign for this month’s Painting with a Pop! activity, which will take place on August 30th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Art of Animation Resort Food Update
We also found the new cupcakes at Art of Animation Resort’s Landscape of Flavors!
The Mermaid Cupcake was available at Art of Animation as well.
Landscape of Flavors’ menu had several changes as well. For starters, Chilled Asian Noodle Salad, Caprese Sandwich, Alfredo Pasta, Chicken Parmesan, Surf and Turf Burger, Double Bacon Cheeseburger were all gone from the menu.
We noticed a few changes to the burger lineup. An Applewood-smoked Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger ($14.49) has replaced the Angus Bacon Cheeseburger and comes with French fries instead of your choice of two sides. The Plant-based Burger has increased in price from $11.29 to $13.99 and now comes with fries only (as opposed to fries and one extra side). But, Chicken Tenders are down from $10.99 to $10.49 and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich has decreased in price from $12.99 to $12.29.
Also, Landscape of Flavors have added a Classic Cheeseburger with fries to the menu for $13.49.
Pomodoro Pasta is now made with turkey meatballs only. Guests used to have a choice of chicken, shrimp, or turkey meatballs. The Lasagna-Pasticcio description changed, but it didn’t seem too different to us. What was previously called “creamy white sauce” is now labeled as “Bechamel sauce.”
The create-your-own salad bar was gone, but the Power Salad and Caesar Salad were still available and were served by a Cast Member.
Art of Animation Resort Construction Update
Art of Animation’s lobby
was completely free of construction and looked great! The arcade and bathrooms were open during our visit as well.
The new area under construction is half of the entrance to the Ink & Paint Shop.
Art of Animation Resort Merchandise Update
Speaking of the Ink & Paint Shop, they had a huge display of Halloween merchandise!
Nothing caught our eye that we hadn’t seen already, but we were perfectly happy to gaze at all the spooktacular goodies.

Thank you for all of the updates! Man, I am really bummed to see they removed chicken parmesan, alfredo pasta and the caprese sandwich! Those dishes were all my go-tos during my last stay a few months ago. Doesn’t look like they replaced it with too much either :/ Bummer!
Jane says
Do you know if they will be done with construction in the AOA lobby by mid November? I am disappointed to see that they are doing this right now b/c I didn’t expect construction during my Thanksgiving week visit. Thank you for any information. 🙂
Emma says
Really dissapointed they’ve removed the create your own salad bars. So much for making healthy choices more accessible. There’s nothing worse than a pre packed salad that has sat in a fridge all day with items you really don’t want in your salad included because someone thought it was a good idea.
Kris says
Pop Century used to have the best pizza. We made a special trip just to get their pizza a few weeks ago. We were disappointed that they no longer had the deluxe pizza, but the pepperoni pizza we ate was still delicious. It was an affordable option for families. The new square pizza looks good, but this will no longer be an option for us because some of my kids don’t like square pizza. Further, it is too costly now.
DFB Sarah says
Jane, the lobby refurb is definitely making progress. Not sure on the timeline, but I think there’s a good chance you’ll be free and clear by November. The Big Blue Pool is going to close for a refurb this fall, though. No official timeline yet.
Linda says
My family just returned from a stay at Art of Animation. The changes at Landscape of Flavors occurred midway through our stay. What a disappointment! The quality and choice of food greatly declined literally over the weekend. I would no longer put it at the top of the Quick Service food stops and wouldn’t bother to go out of my way to eat there any longer. You’d be better off going into a park and trying some of the many options mentioned by DFB ;-). Even better, order from Amazon Prime or Uber Eats and have it sent to your room.
Kyle says
@ DFB Sarah, The Big Blue Pool is closing for refurb next fall, not this fall.
DFB Sarah says
Thanks for clarifying, Kyle!
Sabrina Morse says
Hi! Does AOA have any Halloween activities, trick or treating, contest, etc?
DFB Sarah says
Sabrina, they very well might, but that info would be released closer to the holiday. I wouldn’t expect trick-or-treating, but they may have a craft and certainly could have some themed pastries/desserts.
