Hiya, pals! The opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is FINALLY happening…TOMORROW! And to prepare, Disney World has been making a few changes around the resorts for the big opening weekend.

Earlier we shared that select counter service locations around the Disney World hotels would be opening EARLY to ensure that guests’ bellies are full before their adventure to the planet of Batuu. But now we’re back to share that Disney has also extended the hours for the resort buses and Friendship Boats!
Hollywood Studios will open to the public at 6 AM this weekend for the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And beginning on September 1st, Disney World resort guests and guests staying at select neighborhood hotels will have access to EXTRA, Extra Magic Hours, which will still let them access Hollywood Studios at 6 AM.

To accommodate guests in terms of transportation for these extended park hours, Disney has decided to extend the hours of the resort buses and Friendship Boats, as well.
Friendship Boats Special Hours
Below is the schedule for the Friendship Boats according to the sign we found at Yacht and Beach Club today.
August 28th: 6:30 AM – 9:30 PM
August 29th: 3:30 AM – 1:30 AM
August 30th through September 28th: 4:30 AM – midnight
The buses will run starting at 3:30 am on August 29th!

Will the busses be running starting at 3:30 *every* day, or just August 29th? Or would they would go to 4:30 starting the 30th, like the boats?
Just keep it open for the 1st month 24 hrs/day, why not?
Beverly, we await clarification on that. We were specifically told August 29 for the 3:30 start time. We’ll update when we learn more!
Do you know what will happen after September 28th? The extra extra Magic Hours go until 11/2. We will be there on October 17th & staying at the Beach Club Resort. We definitely want to take advantage of HS opening at 6am & wondering if the Friendships will still be running at 4:30am.
Melissa, I think the best way for you to confirm this will be to call the Resort directly — maybe try reaching out a week prior to your arrival to see if they have a plan in place so you’re not having to wait until the last minute.
