Disneyland
makes us “un poco loco!”
We’re super excited that one of our favorite celebrations — Plaza de la Familia is returning to Disney California Adventure!! After how popular the Coco-inspired fiesta was back in 2017, it’s no surprise that it’s returning, singing “Recuérdame” for all to hear.
Starting September 6th, Plaza de la Familia is making its comeback to celebrate Día de los Muertos and the importance of family.
Over at the Paradise Gardens Park, you’ll be able to catch a musical celebration of Coco performed by Storytellers, a folklórico dance ensemble, the Mariachi Divas, and singer and storyteller Mateo. Our favorite aspiring musician, Miguel, will also be making an appearance! The character’s presentation will be inspired by Mexican folk art (how cute!!).
After catching the riveting show, you can take a peek at The World of Coco exhibit that contains animated images depicting the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead and a 3-dimensional replica of Miguel’s ofrenda dedicated to Ernesto de la Cruz. You can also pose in front of the entrance to Plaza de la Familia, which is covered in marigolds and calacas, and the Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) where visitors can write down memories of their own loved ones.
And, what’s a party without food?! Paradise Garden Grill is transforming its menu to feature Mexican cuisine, including tacos, tamales, a hibiscus-flavored Jamaica slush, a Mexican hot chocolate in a souvenir mug, and desserts!

We can’t wait to party at the Día de los Muertos festival with all our friends from Coco! We wonder if we’ll be able to get our own alebrije like Dante during the celebration.
