is finally open to the public! And after all of the sweets we ate today, between the first day of the 2019 Food and Wine Festival and all the Star Wars-themed treats, we thought it was time to try something a bit more on the healthy side…
So, let’s dig into the Two Suns Hummus from Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios!
The Two Suns Hummus ($9.99) features a red pepper hummus topped with spicy plant-based meat crumbles. It also comes with a chickpea hummus with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, and is served with a spring mix salad!
When we hear “red pepper hummus,” we think bright, colorful, and full of spice and flavor. Sadly, we were a bit disappointed because the hummus came across as bland and dull.
We enjoyed the chickpea hummus because the ingredients seemed to be much fresher. But, also to our disappointment, the chickpeas were not crunchy like we were hoping… The spring mix lettuce had been tossed in a subtle rice vinegar-based dressing, which was a nice addition and brought more of a punch of flavor to the hummus.
We were upset when we noticed the lack of pita served with the overwhelmingly large portion of hummus. But, to our surprise, a Cast Member was happy to give us some more! This may not happen every time, but we sure are thankful it happened this time!
The serving size of the Two Suns Hummus is very nice and we think it’s a pretty good snack to share. It’s a nice pick-me-up in the Florida heat and should serve as a great option for vegetarians.
This is definitely one of the most healthy options from the Star Wars treats released at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today!
