Lately, we’ve seen a whole lot of trends at the Disney parks and resorts, from color collections to snack-themed merchandise, and SO much more.
Today we’re going to talk about several FOOD trends we’ve spotted around Disney property. We want to know — are you on board with these trends or would you rather leave them behind??
Let’s dive into some of the latest Disney food trends!
Boozy Popsicles
Who doesn’t love a refreshing popsicle? We sure do, especially when they offer a little somethin’ extra. We’re talking about BOOZY popsicles!
Last fall, Buzz Pop Cocktails appeared at Paddlefish in Disney Springs, and we’ve since seen wine pops in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion and boozy pops at Pizza Ponte as well!
With the amount of popularity surrounding alcoholic slushes, like the Party Parrot Slush and Frosé Slush, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before boozy popsicles made an appearance in Disney World!
Movie-Themed Treats
If you’ve recently visited Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World, you’ve likely noticed the abundance of treats inspired by The Lion King…and Incredibles 2…and Aladdin…and Toy Story 4…and EVERY OTHER FILM COMING OUT. The parks and resorts have introduced lots of merchandise, eats, and activities to celebrate literally every single Disney release possible.
Before The Lion King became the talk of the town, Toy Story 4 confections — like Disneyland’s Loop-the-Loop Sundae and Disney Springs’ Souvenir Boot Cup— were all the rage.
If you’re super into Disney movies, this is great news for you! But if you aren’t…well, it might be hard to escape the frenzy when you’re in the Disney parks. Are you all about movie-inspired treats or are you ready for a break?
Smoked Cocktails and Snacks
Disney restaurants tend to present food and drinks in unique ways, as is the case with the Croquetas de Pollo from Jaleo in Disney Springs.
While Jaleo’s pillow presentation is super cool, the SMOKING trend seems to be Disney’s presentation of choice just about everywhere these days!
In case you missed it, we recently reviewed Takumi-Tei, Epcot’s newest signature restaurant. While we were there, we enjoyed the cocktail, which is named after a volcano. The cocktail arrives in a glass smoke box and features the signature flavor notes we’ve come to expect with other smoke box cocktails.
Check out our FULL Takumi-Tei review here!
We’ve also tried (and enjoyed!) The Smoking Mirror from Storybook Dining at Artist Point, which is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This unique drink is served in a smoking glass and features an intriguing blend of flavors.

For a more low-key atmosphere to enjoy a smoking drink, check out the Smoke ‘n Roses from the Swan and Dolphin’s Phins lounge. This cocktail features Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon and is served in Phins’ “signature smoke box.”
If you don’t care about trying a cocktail but you DO want to get in on all the smokey action, look no further than the Temple of Bacon from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar! We’ll tell you more about the chocolate-covered bacon later on, but look at that DOME! It’s just so epic.
Over-the-Top Sundaes
During recent visits to Disney World and Disneyland, we’ve seen quite a few over-the-top sundaes!
Over in Disneyland Resort, we’ve tried the Loop-de-Loop Sundae we mentioned above, in addition to the Churro and Waffle Sundae from the new Craftsman Bar. We didn’t love this sundae overall, but it was definitely a sight to behold!

During last year’s Halloween season, The Golden Horseshoe served up a Churro Sundae with cookie butter sauce. This treat was DELICIOUS and we hope Disneyland brings it back for the upcoming Halloween season!
In Disney World, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is ICONIC for its Kitchen Sink Sundae, but now some other locations are joining in on the crazy sundae trend.
Magic Kingdom’s Plaza Ice Cream Parlor features its OWN version of the famous treat, which is adorably served in a “sink” resembling either Minnie’s skirt or Mickey’s pants.
During the Fourth of July, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill served an ABSOLUTELY CRAZY sundae. How does one person eat that??
Now, the Disney Springs location is featuring an (equally over-the-top) Campfire Sundae!
Lately, we’ve really enjoyed the monthly sundaes at the World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. We most recently ordered the Cinema Caramel Popcorn Sundae and LOVED IT. It was SO SO good, you guys. I mean, what could go wrong when you’ve got dulce de leche ice cream, caramel, and whipped cream?!
Goodness, now we’re craving a sundae over here. This is by no means ALL the crazy sundaes we’ve found, but definitely a few of the most memorable ones!
Bacon-y Goodness
We love bacon here at DFB, which is why we love the fact that there are several bacon treats and eats in Disney World! When we’re in the mood for lots of carbs and a light sprinkling of bacon, we like to grab the Bacon Mac & Cheese Fries from Casey’s Corner.
We recently tried chocolate-covered bacon and bacon-covered strawberries at Polynesian Village Resort’s Kona Island.
We’ve found several bacon-focused bites in Disney Springs, including Maple-Bacon Chocolate-Chip Cookie Dough (wow, that’s a mouthful!) at B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co.
The Edison is famous for its (seriously good but seriously pricey) DB ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon’.
But perhaps the most impressive treat on this list is the Temple of Bacon from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar for its totally awesome presentation. (See – we told you we’d mention it again!) The Applewood Smoked Bacon is doused in Ganachery Milk Chocolate AND drizzled with Chipotle Ganache.
