We’re still thinking about all the Halloween Time treats we tried yesterday when this seasonal celebration kicked off in Disneyland, and we’ve got even more reviews coming to you today, believe it or not! (There’s a TON of food and drink at Disneyland Resort for Halloween Time!) Last night we shared our review of the Minnie Witch and Vampire Mickey Ice Cream Bars — read it here! — and now we’re back with MORE treats from Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream!
The Spiked Hard Apple Float is a fun presentation and a tasty adult beverage all wrapped into one! It’s a fairly simple drink from an ingredients perspective — just hard apple cider and some apple sorbet with caramel drizzle.
But the presentation is really fun. It’s called a float, and the apple sorbet does appear to float, indeed!
This presentation means you could, theoretically, keep the sorbet and cider separate to an extent, but that’s bound to get messy. Still, we found that if you wanted to really taste the hard apple cider, you needed to drink it before the apple sorbet dropped in.
Once the sorbet met the cider, it started to dissolve, adding tons of sweetness to the drink. Perhaps too much sweetness for some. Still, it was an interesting (and apple-y) drink perfect for the season. BUT at $15.50, the price is steep on the Spiked Hard Apple Float.
Clarabelle’s also dishing up a Boogie Man Sundae — like a worms ‘n dirt situation but with mint chocolate chip ice cream!
The Boogie Man Sundae is $7.49, but for the size, we felt it was a good value and totally share-able. The chocolate-dipped and sprinkle-rimmed waffle bowl was a delicious combination with the ice cream (of which there was tons!).
The sundae is topped with hot fudge, chocolate cookie crumbs, whipped cream, candy corn, and gummy candies (mostly worms).
The Boogie Man Sundae definitely seems like a tasty homage to Oogie Boogie, if you ask us, and it was delicious (how could it not be?). If you’re averse to mint chocolate chip ice cream, you could request a different flavor ice cream. But we think the green is Halloween-ready for sure!
Hallween Time kicked off yesterday, September 6, and continues through Halloween, so there’s plenty of time to sink your fangs into the MANY treats (and a few tricks) at Disneyland Resort.
