My Disney friends, we regret to inform you that the sporks are no longer available at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
They have officially been replaced by regular serving utensils. 🙁 A shock to us all, I know. ::sarcasm::
Disneyland made this change pretty quickly after Galaxy’s Edge opened, so we were pleasantly surprised to see the sporks pop up when Galaxy’s Edge opened in Hollywood Studios. But, they have been taken away from us once again…
And do you want to know why we can’t keep nice, fun, and unique imagineering like this at the Disney Parks without literally nailing it down? According to cast members at Docking Bay, it’s because people STEAL. THEM. and take them home as free souvenirs!! This happened in Disneyland and now it’s happened in Disney World as well.
If you were a lover of the spork like we were…and are willing to pay for things you like instead of stealing them…we have found one online that looks very similar to the sporks that were available at Docking Bay. So, for less than $10, you can purchase one and have your very own spork to bring to the planet of Batuu!
Farewell, Docking Bay 7 sporks, you will be VERY missed. We will be sure to keep you posted if this situation changes once again.

Simple solution. In Europe you pay a deposit on mugs during holiday fairs, and if you want to keep your fancy gluhwein mug, that’s that. If you return it, you get your $ back. They should do that with the sporks.

People are disgusting!
Rachel says
I’m honestly surprised Disney didn’t think that would happen. That was my very first thought when I saw they were using regular silverware.
KRODYO says
I’m surprised they don’t have the batu sporks to purchase at Disney springs. People obviously thought they were such a fun item I’m surprised Disney didn’t take the excitement and run with it. Like have a Star Wars style dining set.
Melly says
Disney should seriously being selling these in the shops! People would definitely buy them. I know I would! So sad that people are stealing these.
Chris says
Why don’t Disney give you an option of a free ‘normal’ spork, or for, say, $3, one of the GE sporks you can keep?
John Scott says
Honestly, what did Disney expect? The cost of silverware is practically built into the price of food at Galaxy’s Edge. At least a spork could go into checked baggage. (Fortunately TSA reversed their position on the soda bottles. Disney dodged a bullet there. Though come on, $6 for a 13oz Coke.)
Mind you, I am not condoning stealing. Just adding a little contest.
Carrrie says
I think a lot of them fall in the trash more than people aren’t stealing them
NMartin says
Just checked eBay. The sporks are going for minimum $41, and upwards of $200. As expected.
Rebecca says
Has no-one noticed that these are right-handed sporks? It is almost impossible for a leftie to eat with them!!! I say good riddance (clearly, very tongue-in-cheek!).

Did Disney REALLY think the East Coast wasn’t going to be the same as Disney Land? I am actually surprised, however, that Disney’s Cheapskate-In-Command DIDN’T get ahead of this and replace them with plastic ones for the grand opening.
Amy says
To play devil’s advocate here, I’m not 100% sure 100% of the missing sporks was 100% theft.
When we ate there within days of opening in the outside seating area at WDW, there wasn’t a CM there attentive to helping w/ trays or whatever at the trash area. Some people had left their food dishes and things on the tables; others were cleaning up themselves at the trash / plate receptacle area (similar to Panera’s set-up). Maybe there is a CM there now, but no one was there at the time we were.
So, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people accidentally tossed them when cleaning junk from their plate since they’re so used to throwing away cutlery elsewhere.
DFB Sarah says
Amy, I’m certain that was also happening.

This happened while we were there in early September. We spent two days at GE, the first day we were awed by the very cool sporks. The second day we got plastic utensils. We wondered if they were just all dirty, but we should have known better. 🙁 Sad day. They were really cool.

Hi! I’m a local in East Batuu! I was told by a reliable source that DB7 decided to stop using the sporks because the number of sporks they had on hand dropped VERY quickly over the first… two weeks? I think even that time frame is a bit much. It went from like 25K to like 900-something. The excuse they’re supposed to give is that the First Order confiscated them. It’s a shame, because I thought they were really cool.
