Funnel cake lovers, listen up!! Yesterday, we shared that a BRAND NEW funnel cake location had opened in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort.
And now, we’re getting down with the powdered sugar and trying out the new location!!
The Funnel Cakery is a little kiosk in Downtown Disney that sits between Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and California Churro Company. It’s green and red and has the words The Funnel Cakery written in cursive on the glass.
The Menu
The menu includes a Classic, Strawberry, and Oreo Crumble Funnel Cakes, Funnel Pancakes, Donut Holes, and toppings. The toppings range in price from $1.00 – $3.00 and the options are whipped cream, strawberries, Oreo crumbles, sprinkles, chocolate drizzle, caramel drizzle, and strawberry drizzle!
You can also purchase bottled Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, or Water for $4.00.
Funnel Cakes
We tried the Strawberry, Oreo Crumble, and Funnel Pancakes!
The funnel cakes are served in a box, so you can take them to-go, which we LOVE. But, be WARNED you may lose half of your toppings to the top of the box if you choose to close it. They’re also made-to-order, which means that they should be hot and FRESH! 🙂
Strawberry
The Strawberry Funnel Cake ($11) is a classic funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberry drizzle.
We really liked the strawberries and the funnel cake was light and airy…as it should be! This is a GREAT option if you’re wanting something both sweet and fruity. The whipped cream will likely melt a bit since the funnel cakes are made fresh, so be sure to grab a few napkins!
Oreo Crumble
The Oreo Funnel Cake ($10) is also a classic funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, Oreo crumbles, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle.
This was our FAV of the three! We loved the chocolaty flavors and the crunch from the cookies. We also enjoy the MOUNTAIN of whipped cream that they placed on top of the sugary sea of Oreos. So. Stinking. Good.
Funnel Pancakes
The Funnel Pancakes ($7) are just a classic funnel cake covered in powdered sugar and whipped cream. The only thing that makes them breakfasty is that they’re served with a side of syrup.
These were our least favorite of the three. Sadly, they just tasted bland and we felt like the batter wasn’t as sweet as it could have been. There was also nothing really pancakey about them and overall, we just thought they were a letdown.
Overall
Honestly, we preferred these more classic funnel cakes over the Funnel Cake Fries from Award Wieners because we felt like they had an overall better texture and flavor. We even thought these beat out the funnel cakes from Stage Door Café.
While the Funnel Cakery’s options aren’t too innovative, the cakes themselves are just made really well and are served very fresh! If you love yourself a good funnel cake, this should be a great option for you!
