Remember when we announced that automated cameras had replaced PhotoPass Cast Members at select locations around Walt Disney World?
Well, the story may be changing a bit as we spotted a PhotoPass photographer at Mickey’s meet-and-greet in Magic Kingdom today.
As part of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, Mickey and Minnie were meeting together at Town Square Theatre.
Now, Minnie has returned to Storybook Circus and Mickey is meeting once again in his magicians’ costume. When visiting him today, we noticed that the automated cameras were not in use and that a PhotoPass Cast Member was taking the photos.
Many guests were very upset with Disney’s decision to use automated cameras and a petition was started to bring back the PhotoPass Cast Member. You can read more about this here!
The automated cameras have NOT been removed from the room and there is no word on if the return of a PhotoPass Cast Member is a permanent change.
Since we’re unsure about how this situation is going to play out, we will be sure to keep you guys updated!

So happy to hear this! Having the actual CAST MEMBER allows for some truly magical pictures, from the moment you walk into the room, onwards. Technology does not equal a better experience.
