Epcot’s transformation is in full swing!
And now we can learn EVEN more about it thanks to the Epcot Experience which opened today at Disney World!
You’ll be able to experience this first-of-its-kind exhibit located in the Odyssey Events Pavilion between the ever-transforming Future World and the World Showcase!
And once inside you’ll find never-before-released details about Epcot’s future and where it’s headed after this major transformation through “engaging and interactive exhibits that allow you to step inside the relentless innovation, energy, and excitement.”
All of this sounded pretty exciting to us, but we still didn’t really know what we were in for until we entered Epcot Experience!
In the main display room, you are encircled by a 360 widescreen with a large three-dimensional model of Epcot at its very center.
A 12-minute presentation begins and as the various changes that are coming to Epcot are mentioned the coolest thing starts happening…
…the model begins to transform! Each new attraction reveals itself as a special overlay projected onto the Epcot diorama. Here’s how the model looked during Moana’s Journey of Water…

…And for the new Mary Poppins attraction!

The Ratatouille overlay had to be our favorite though, because, you know, food!
But while the Ratatouille-theme made us hungry for cheese…

The Play Pavillion segment left us speechless!

We could’ve stayed in the main Epcot Experience showroom all day — in fact, we watched the show a few times! But there were other parts of the exhibit to explore! We saw colorful posters detailing some old Epcot attractions as well as some new ones to come!
It was nice to see some of these old familiar faces again including Maelstrom and Universe of Energy!
There were also four special photo opportunities including this Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind background…

…Mary Poppins–inspired background…
…and this Spaceship Earth background!

There was also a huge mural of the transformation…
So, get ready to have an Epcot-filled Insta, my friends!
There were also a bunch of props being displayed from Mary Poppins…
…And Guardians of the Galaxy! Fun fact…this vest was actually worn IN Guardians of the Galaxy!!
We also spotted a bunch of posters for Epcot’s newest attractions including this one for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opening in 2020…
…As well as the new Space 220 Restaurant which is opening this December!

We love how Disney has reprised the vintage Epcot ’80s style for these attraction posters — they could have just as easily come out 37 years ago when the park originally opened! Here’s the Moana’s Journey of Water poster…
and the World Celebration poster!

Speaking of World Celebration, there was also this model of the three-tiered pavilion which will become the center of the new World Celebration. Looks like a party to us! According to Disney, “This multi-level structure will be the perfect place for live events, and the home base for Epcot’s signature festivals.”
The Epcot Experience has us even more excited for the new experiences coming to Epcot soon!
While you’re hanging out around the Epcot Experience, you may want to grab a bite to eat! Luckily, Disney has moved to gourmet popcorn over to the Epcot Experience! Read all about the move here.
And you can’t forget all the new Epcot Experience merch that was released today. We’ll have more on that for you shortly!

Those EPCOT posters are gorgeous! Do you think Disney is selling them? A few framed and hung on the wall together would make a wonderful display at home…
