Earlier this morning we reported the Disney Skyliner was back up and runnin’ after the collision that occurred on October 5th. This collision resulted in many passengers being stranded on the Skyliner for up to 3 hours.
And now with the gondolas transporting guests once more, Disney has just released an official update about Skyliner’s status!
According to Disney, “Following a complete review with the manufacturer, we’ve made adjustments to our processes and training, and we are improving how we communicate with guests during their flight with Disney Skyliner.”

Disney went on to say, “Beginning today, guests may travel aboard Disney Skyliner from 8 AM to 10:30 PM. However, system updates later this week will result in the following modified operating hours for Oct. 16-18.”
- Oct. 16: The Disney Hollywood Studios line will be closed while the other two lines will be available from 1 PM – 10:30 PM.
- Oct. 17-18: All lines will be open from 1 PM – 10:30 PM.
Disney also provided this helpful reminder: “Similar to ski lift systems, Disney Skyliner may slow or come to some stops during the ride, particularly when we need to accommodate guests who require additional time to load their cabin. We want to assure you that the comfort of every guest is important to us.”

Rode the skyliner to Epcot this morning. So pleased we could ride in the second week of our holiday. Obviously not good for the guys who did get stuck let’s hope they worked out the problem

From the sound of it, if you read between the lines, sounds like the accident was employee error. Disney has been rushing too many things lately.

I agree with Disney rushing, they need to slow down, and make realistic dates, I think to be stuck for 3 hrs in a gondola isn’t funny at all, I don’t think this will be the last we will hear of them Breaking down, I hope not I really do, but any system that runs nearly 18 hrs a day, will have problems at some point, they do look very cool though, we come back next year and will look forward to riding them for sure.

The skyliner is very exciting. To me it will be an attraction in itself just like the monorail!

Going back next week and plan to ride them again. Really looking forward to it.
