Grab your Big Mac and Quarter Pounder with Cheese while you still can!
McDonald’s will be closing its doors at its super-popular Disney World location for VERY soon and they’re not planning to reopen UNTIL 2020!
Here’s some good news: the on-property McDonalds that’s been fueling our Animal Kingdom rope drops and Extra Magic Hour excursions with their Egg McMuffins is going to be undergoing an extensive refurbishment (hey, sometimes you just gotta grab some quick grub, right?)
Now for the bad news: According to McDonald’s the location plans to halt their operations on Wednesday, October 30th at 3 AM. And currently, their tentative re-opening timeline is March 2020.
That’s a lot of six-piece nugs and McDoubles we’ll be missing out on for those late-night snack attacks, but we’ll be looking forward to visiting the freshly remodeled location next year!

The last visit I had there was terrible. I was relieved when I saw the title that it was closing but then I read that it will reopen later. I will admit the first visit I had around 10 years ago was awesome but not so much lately.

Something about this Mcd that ALWAYS tastes better after a long day at the park…but def needs a redo… its missing the mark of WDW standards!
Keep up the great job AJ and team keeping us posted… we watch and read ALLLLLL the time (posted as we resort hop at the contemp. ; )

likely to make it self service. with the horrible kiosks that leave the word touchscreen with tech from in the 80’s

Where is the on property McDonalds? I have seen such places on the ride f re on airport to WDW, but only recall some places selling McD fries.
Christina says
@Jim It’s actually closest to Blizzard Beach and the All-Star Music Resort. It’s not in a park, per se.

We went to this McDonald’s about 10 years ago when McDonald’s started charging $1.00 for a large iced tea and soft drink and were so shocked when we were charged some exorbitant price for two of those drinks. The other food was priced higher also. Never went back. When we’re over that way we use the McDonald’s at the Crossroads, right outside Disney Springs. They don’t gouge people like the one that’s closing near AK. It’s convenient for rope drop at AK and any late night hours plus Blizzard Beach if you want to pay more. Sounds like they’ll totally tear down the whole building and redo it with being closed for 5 months.

Well, boo. It has been a tradition for us to get something at the drive-thru window when returning to Music from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party because they were open after midnight. The service has often been lacking, although one time they made a fresh pot of coffee for my husband even though they were unlikely to sell the rest at that time of night. We didn’t like it when they got rid of the cartoon theme and it is true that their prices are a bit higher than out on the highway. But you couldn’t beat the convenience factor.

On our first visit to Disney World in 2004 we stayed as ASMovies and had breakfast at this McD’s most of our 14 days 😱 en route to a park, and remains my favourite. A trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit. (UK)

Why not open one at Disney springs
Bill G says
@Ed There used to be one in Disney Springs (well, back then it was Downtown Disney and maybe even the Marketplace). It was there for years and pretty popular. No idea why it closed, perhaps not chic enough for the upcoming plans.
