What’s this? What’s this? There’s cookies everywhere!
The Gingerbread Castle has arrived in all its sweet glory in Disney World! And, while we are appreciating the gingerbread artistry and hidden Mickeys, we’re also snacking on the treats being baked up next door!
The Gingerbread Snack Stand is back this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gingerbread Castle (yay!!). And, there are so much treats, merch, and a meet-and-greets in store for this year’s display!
The shop is open from 10AM-10PM daily. Let’s take a closer look at what you can find at this tasty seasonal shop!
Gingerbread Snack Stand Merch
To commemorate the anniversary of the Gingerbread Castle, the CUTEST themed merch can be a part of your Christmas decorations this year!
Drink some hot chocolate or Christmas coffee from the Gingerbread Castle Mug…
…complete with the Contemporary logo and the Fairy Godmother cut-out for $24.99!
Add a little mint to your pine tree with the Peppermint Ornament…
…and maybe even sing “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo” on Christmas morning for $14.99!
Welcome your guests into your (gingerbread) house this holiday season with the Gingerbread Castle Pin…
…which OPENS its doors for a peek inside for $17.99!
Gingerbread Snack Stand Meet-and-Greet
It took 39 bakers at the Contemporary to build the Gingerbread Castle this year! And, you can actually meet one of the talented pastry chefs who worked on it! Jeff Barnes was out greeting guests and signing merch near the Gingerbread Snack Stand.
If you have the chance to meet him, he is as sweet as the cookies!! He told us that he would be out signing multiple days during the display as his schedule allows.
Jeff Barnes also let us know the castle has changed themes over the past few years from “it’s a small world” to Frozen and now to the Cinderella castle in the “it’s a small world” style. That’s why there are hidden nods to the Frozen and “it’s a small world” characters this year on the display.
After thanking him for meeting us, he told us that his favorite cookie for sale at the stand was the Chocolate Peppermint followed by the Linzer Cookie. Obviously, if the pastry chef loved them, we knew we had to try them for ourselves!
Gingerbread Snack Stand Treats
The Gingerbread Snack Stand has treats galore for all guests this year!!
There’s pre-packaged Crisped Rice Cereal Treats, hot cocoa, and pretzels…
…and there’s the Frozen Apple Cider and Frozen Hot Chocolate we’ve seen before for $4.50!
Buuut, you can get them spiked for the first time this year for $13 with peppermint schnapps, Fireball, or Jim Beam Red Stag black cherry bourbon!
While they’ve had gluten-free options, like the Gluten-Free Gingerbread Cookie for $6.25 from Erin McKenna’s before…
…the Plant-Based Gingerbread Loaf is new to us this year!
The soft and sweet bread can be purchased for only $5 (what a steal)!
While we were admiring all the cookies available, we spotted the 10th Anniversary Cookie Box with Jeff Barnes’s favorite treats inside for $14!
There are 4 treats inside ready to be unwrapped and eaten!
The Chocolate Peppermint Cookie…
…Gingerbread Boy Cookie…
…Linzer Cookie…
…and Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie each came with a tag listed their ingredients and allergy warnings.
We even got our box signed by the pastry chef himself!
The Gingerbread Boy Cookie comes with an iced smile and button that melts our hearts!
Although the chef said that the gingerbread was sweet like “American gingerbread,” there was much more of a spicy, gingery flavor. We couldn’t help but think it would go perfectly with some milk or hot chocolate.
The Chocolate Peppermint Cookie has a chocolate drizzle and crushed peppermint candy on top and chocolate chips baked inside.
We definitely understand why the Chocolate Peppermint was Jeff Barnes’s favorite! The chocolate cookie was soft and chewy. Each bite was packed with peppermint flavor and had a crunch from the peppermint candies. Seriously, we could eat a whole plate of these bbs!
The Linzer Cookie has a cut out of Mickey’s head, filled with raspberry jam, and is topped with powdered sugar. (ADORBS!!)
The Linzer Cookie has a slightly sweet flavor that is somewhat similar to shortbread but much more buttery. The sweetness of the treat comes from the raspberry filling, which is also slightly tart. It was INCREDIBLE!
The Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie reminds us of our favorite homemade cookies with chocolate chips and pecans baked inside and salt sprinkled over the top.
The Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie was a simple, yet fantastic treat. The salt added a tasty twist on the sweet chocolate. While the cookie was nice and chewy, the nuts gave a final crunch to each bite.
We thought that they were all WONDERFUL, but our favorite just happened to be the Chocolate Peppermint.
While we were eating our treats, we just loved looking at that beautiful Gingerbread Castle.
We’re keeping our eyes peeled for even more gingerbread displays to pop up around the resorts!

Last year most items at this stand were DDP snack credits, but I don’t see the symbol on your pictures. Did you notice if they were snack credit eligible? Thanks!

The Chocolate Peppermint looks like the same cookie given out during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Which is my favorite of the party cookies, so nice to see it outside a ticketed event.
