We LOVE wandering through Epcot. Grabbing a few snacks, riding Spaceship Earth, being caught off guard by something super weird and random… . You know; the usual.
Yeah, so our find today in Epcot was a little more…strange, maybe?, than we expected. Would the word be strange? We’ve gotta show you.
We’re wandering through the France pavilion today, and we headed over to check out the custom parasols. Did you know you can buy custom parasols over near the bridge in France? We always like to look at the latest displays, and today there were two new-to-us versions!
First, this completely fun orange bird parasol. So cute…featuring Magic Kingdom’s famous citrus swirl…super adorable, right?
And behind it we saw this… .
Yeah…those ARE princess heads on the bodies of the animals featured in their storylines, you are CORRECT.
We have Merida on a bear body (Bear-ida, obvi), Tiana on a frog body, Jasmine on a tiger body… . And is that Anna and Sven? Or, as we like to call her, Svanna?
This is weird, right? …Like, we’re not crazy?
Anyway, we’ve GOT to give props to the artist for coming up with something completely unique that we certainly wouldn’t find anywhere else! While the artwork is…“niche”…we’re sure this is someone’s perfect Christmas gift, right?!
The artists here, by the way, are hugely talented, and these parasols really are a super unexpected and unique gift. You can have them write your name on them, add pictures of your favorite Disney things, and more. 😀
Just goes to show — no matter how many times you’ve been to Disney World, you can always find something new and random!
Tami says
Is that really Cinderella? Is she a deer? A llama with antlers? Why not a mouse? So confused…
DFB Sarah says
Tami, we’re pretty sure it’s supposed to be Anna on Sven’s body. But I think there are a lot of questions here.
Essie says
I appreciate the way the Disney people come with new merchandise ideas, but the princess/animal parasol is a bit too weird to me.
Haley Ricketson says
I work for this company and we unfortunately got in trouble with Disney for doodling knock off disney princesses. They weren’t technically the princesses but because one artist did it too close in resemblance of the princesses, we had to stop completley unfortunately. We can still have work around stuff like this but we have a contract with Disney but don’t have a contract to aninate their characters.
