Life’s full of tough choices, innit?
And, while there are plenty of difficult decisions to make during your stay at the Disney Parks, at least it’s not choosing between visiting the parks or giving up your tickets for the YEAR! Wait, whaaaat?
According to WDW Info, the Disney Company is giving the option to Cast Members to pick between their Main Entrance Pass or a free Disney+ bundle.
If you didn’t know, Cast Members are given a Main Entrance Pass that grants them the ability to take friends and family into the parks for free — except, y’know, during those pesky blockout dates. Sooo, that sounds PRETTY AMAZING, right??
However, Cast Members can now pick between their park passes OR that Disney+ bundle that includes Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. With the Disney+ option, Cast Members will still receive free admission for themselves BUT they just won’t be able to bring their friends and family members along for their favorite rides.
Since they aren’t able to opt for both the Main Entrance Pass and Disney+, Cast Members have to choose between spending time with their loved ones in the parks or watching the 700+ shows and movies coming to the streaming service with them.
Which would YOU choose?

This has you in between a rock and a hard place thinking about it? Let’s see, a benefit that costs $156/year or a benefit that’s way more than that if you let in just two friends. Math is hard…

I would still go with a park pass.

Wow…why is Disney corp. So cheap!!!!! I have a friend that worked there, he said the same thing, they are awful to work for, i didnt want to believe it, but this doesnt help.
Jason says
This seems like a no brainer. Disney+ is like $70 for the year. A one day ticket to the parks is more than that so . . .
Ariel says
Obviously keep the park pass, unless you just NEVER bring guests to the parks… as others have stated, you can get a year of the streaming bundle for less than a one-day park hopper, so seems like a no-brainer…

While the dollar value difference between the two options is big, I can see how this may be a good option for quite a few cast members, though. Some CMs don’t use their main entrance pass benefit. If most of your friends were fellow cast members and your family wasn’t local, who would you sign in? The Disney plus benefit means they have one less bill to pay each month.
