Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa today was FILLED with the sweet aroma of freshly baked gingerbread this morning!
And we were there to see this grand Disney World tradition (over 20 years in the making!) make its big debut — the Grand Floridian’s FABULOUS Gingerbread House!
While we’ve been monitoring the Gingerbread House’s construction closely over the last few days, Â at 10:30 AM this morning a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark its completion. The celebration included many of the hard-working Disney elves who bring the gingerbread masterpiece to fruition!
Princess Aurora was even on hand to help Disney pastry chef Kristine Farmer do the ribbon-cutting honors!
Here’s a fun list of all the ingredients that went into making this year’s sugar and molasses masterpiece!
And let’s just say, the 2019 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House looks just as STUN-NING as it does TASTY! They’ve really outdone themselves this year!
Each window is decorated with different Disney characters AND there’s a total of 21 Hidden Mickeys to spot!
In fact, there are so many fabulous details in this year’s gingerbread house, we could spend hours staring at it and still find something new!
These little snowmen wearing hats and scarves on the gingerbread house’s wrap-around porch really caught our eye!
As well as these adorable nutcrackers we saw earlier as the gingerbread house was being constructed– while they seem to be saluting us, we’re saluting THEM!
The Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House is completely surrounded by poinsettias making this impressive holiday display all the more magical! They’re even lining the eaves of its rooftop!
But as you probably know, the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House isn’t just a festive tribute to the most wonderful time of year — it’s also a snack stand! And as you can see, the line was LONG this morning to get some of its iconic Christmas goodies!
But it was well worth the wait! Plus — how adorable is this Cast Member who was manning the back of the line? We want her fabulous apron — but unfortunately, it’s not for sale (yup, we asked!). She’s totally rocking her Gingerbread ears — which you can check out here!Â
There’s always a TON of exclusive sweets at the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House snack shop — and this year was no exception!
We spotted the Gingerbread House Shingle — one of the most iconic and traditional snacks that the shop features every year!
As well as these Mickey-shaped Gingerbread Cookies that had ears dipped in chocolate — YUM!
We also spotted these jolly-looking Gingerbread Men that were all smiles!
As well as these Mickey Gingerbread Ornaments! We would’ve taken the whole bucket of ’em, but we’re trying to stay on Santa’s nice list, so we left plenty for everyone!
Each one of the Gingerbread Ornaments was uniquely-decorated, making it even harder to choose a favorite!
We also saw these sweet Gingerbread Mickey Pops which read “Happy Holidays!”
As well as these Christmas Tree Pops…
…and lots of White Chocolate Dipped Oreo Pops, featuring some of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty this year!
For those looking to take a little Gingerbread House to call their own, there were some adorable Gingerbread House Cookie Sets, wrapped beautifully for gift-giving!
But our absolute favorite item at the snack shop was the mini Gingerbread House that was available for purchase today — it’s like having the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House right in your own home!
It’s even dated 2019 and features some adorable confectionery artistry! How sweet are the little peppermint white chocolates that adorn its roofline — and the cute little critter wearing a Santa hat!
There were also some fun new holiday treats on hand including this handsome Snowman Donut, Aurora Petit (complete with magic wand!), and the S’mores Cookie (a returning classic from last year!)
Read our review of the S’mores Cookie here!
Seriously, how stinkin’ cute is this little friend of Frosty?
We love how the pastel colors of the petit cakes match Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.
They even had this insanely gorgeous and HUGE Cake Pop.
And for those true Grand Floridian Gingerbread House enthusiasts, there was this fantastic new Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Mug for $24.99!
This year’s version features Princess Aurora on one side looking lovely as ever!
While the initials G.F. and 2019 appear in shiny gold lettering!
And if pins are more your thing, there new limited edition 2019 Grand Floridian Gingerbread Collectible Pin has landed — this is not a drill!
The frosted window opens to reveal a beautiful scene of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip standing in front of this year’s gingerbread house! Amazingly accurate, we gotta say!
The Grand Floridian is even offering a special pin signing event on select Saturdays from 1 PM – 2 PM starting November 16th where you can meet Disney pastry chef Kristin Farmer who helped build the gorgeous display!
So from all of us at DFB, a BIG shout out and thank you! to all the folks who worked on this year’s amazing Grand Floridian Gingerbread House! We know our Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without you guys and your creative talents!
Be sure to swing by the other Disney World Gingerbread works-of-art including the Frozen Gingerbread Castle at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Gingerbread Carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and the newest member of the Disney World gingerbread family, the Disney Wilderness Lodge Resort’s Gingerbread Log Cabin!

Leah says
Oh god. Are the chocolate boxes gone?!
Arlene says
Did anyone take a picture of the price list for us? All those goodies look wonderful but I’m wondering how much they cost? Especially the miniature gingerbread house and the little gingerbread ornaments? Please , please if you have the price list could you please post it for us? We will be there the first week in December and would like to budget and plan ahead a little bit. Thank you! : )
DFB Sarah says
Arlene, we DO have a picture of the menu with prices. I’m adding it to the post right now!
DFB Sarah says
Leah, they weren’t there during our visit. If they reappear, I’ll update!
Arlene says
Thank you Sarah for updating with the price list so quickly! We really appreciate that! Now we can budget a little better. Thanks again! You guys are the best! : )
Kellie Fay says
I bought a shingle, but I’m being very careful about what I’m eating (I only had a one inch square of it.) is there a way I can find the nutritional info for the gingerbread. It’s not like a cookie. BTW I am on WW so WW points would be awesome.
Chris says
Any pictures or reviews of the no sugar added cookies?
DFB Sarah says
Chris, I don’t think we do. Let me talk to the on-site people to see if we can get one!
Andrea says
Do you happen to know how long this will be up and how long after Christmas they will be selling the gingerbread? Is this something they take down right away at New Year or do they leave it for another week or so?
DFB Sarah says
Andrea, usually it lingers into the first week of January.
Dia Lugo says
Hi! I would love to visit but I am worried about how to access the hotel. Where do I park? Can I go see this even if I’m not staying at the hotel or visiting the park? Any tips on that? I tried a couple of years ago and they didn’t let me since I wasn’t staying. Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Dia Lugo, you can try driving up and telling them why you’re there. If that doesn’t work, you can park at Disney Springs for free and take a bus over to Grand Floridian.
Monica says
When does the gingerbread house come down?
DFB Sarah says
Monica, we’ll be checking on that later this week. It’s typically the first or second week in January.
