World travelers, start your engines!
We’re taking a look at the all-new immersive experience that’s just arrived in the Epcot’s Morocco pavilion in Disney World!
While many pavilions in Epcot’s World Showcase are receiving upgrades (we’re talking about the France, China and Canada movies getting updated as well as new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and La Creperie de Paris coming soon to France’s pavilion!), Morocco’s new exhibit “Race Against The Sun” is the stealin’ the trophy today!
The new immersive experience features displays about two modern-day competitions that take place in the Sahara Desert. Check out this area dedicated to the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles) — an all-female off-road rally!
Climb behind the wheel of this interactive photo opportunity…
…and check out some of the uniforms, helmets, and other racing stuff on display!
There’s also artifacts showcasing Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands), a six-day ultramarathon takes place in the Sahara Desert. It’s the length of six regular marathons which is why it’s called an ULTRAMARATHON!
It may be known as one of the toughest races on the planet, but it looks like it at least includes some tasty-looking snacks!
The exhibit also shows how the Sahara’s original inhabitants, the Berbers, we able to master living in such a harsh, challenging environment!
Hey, anyone who’s ever been to Disney World on Christmas Day knows a little something about being in a harsh, challenging environment! But these guys make it look so easy — plus the artifacts are really cool to look at!
So check out the Race Against The Sun exhibit next time you’re over by the World Showcase — and while you’re there, check out all the gorgeous holiday decorations around Epcot for its Festival of the Holidays starting on November 29th!

Love the Morocco Pavilion. While it takes a certain palate to eat here, this is a staple for our family. Either Tangerine cafe for lunch for an amazing platter, or Spice Road table for show on the water viewing/dining, the Pavillion is beautiful and the country sent everything over to personally build it. What people don’t know is that there are many areas which have beautiful relics of Moroccan culture in back and now with this new edition really should be on your to do list. Will be definitely experiencing this on upcoming trip in 3 wks, thx!!
