It was previously announced that the Florida GOP Fundraiser with President Trump was to be held at Walt Disney World.
The dinner, originally set to be held along the Seven Seas Lagoon at the Grand Floridian, is an annual event leading up to the following year’s presidential election.
But, the venue seems to have changed.
According to the Republican Party of Florida’s website, the 2019 Statesman’s Dinner with Gov. Ron DeSantis will now be held in Miami on Dec. 7. So, for now it looks like President Trump will not be visiting Walt Disney World for the fundraiser.
We’ll update you if we receive any additional information.

Politics aside, I can only imagine the nightmarish security that would be in place with having a sitting president visiting a resort. Not a headache that I’d want to deal with on an expensive and carefully planned out Disney vacation.

This is great news! My family and I are scheduled to arrive at Disney on December 7, 2019. My husband and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary. It would have been a nightmare.

I remember trying to get to the airport when Then VP Biden was speaking at WDW. It was horrible. We almost missed our flight. I support President Trump but WDW has too many moving parts for that caliber of visit.

It would have been a nightmare for people getting around, but with that said, I love our President and only wish the best for him and his re-election… We will be at Disney on Friday and will see President Trump in the Hall of Presidents… outstanding to see…

As a retired Police officer who has worked a few Presidential details when both Bushs came out to Offutt AFB in Bellevue, NE I do agree that it would have been a pain for the Secret Service and both Disney and Local Police to handle. However, as a DVC member with the Grand Floridian as one of my home resorts as well as a big Trump supporter because he actually has been following through with his campaign promises, I’m kinda sad I won’t be able to say that he came to a property of mine. I wish him all the best at the new venue.

So glad they came to their senses. We can now go see the beautiful decorations at Grand Floridian and the Gingerbread House in peace. Two thumbs up!!!!!

Thank God! That would have been a disaster!

Sad that so many people feel the need to give a political message that has nothing to do with Disney food in these comments.

Too bad…that would have been cool to see our President at WDW. The extra security wouldn’t have been any more hassle and inconvenience than the hoops Disney puts us through…and it wouldn’t be hard for them to be more friendly or effective than the staff Disney has been hiring the last few years.

2019: The year it became a “political message” to say “I support our President”.
Strange times we live in.
I’m happy for all the folks with vacations planned for those dates who won’t have to manage through what would have been for sure a logistical nightmare
