We are eagerly awaiting the upcoming opening of Epcot’s restaurant, Space 220, a dining adventure that will transport guests 220 miles above the Earth.

With an original anticipated opening of Winter 2019, there appears to have been some setbacks in the progress of the space-themed culinary destination.
We first reported that the restaurant had lost its executive chef. In addition to hiring for a Front of House Manager and Restaurant Manager, they are also now searching for a Bartender. Now, we are seeing in the job listings posted on the Patina Group website that the restaurant is expected to open now in February 2020.

Hmm…so possibly 02/20 for 220. That’s a lot of 2’s and 0’s! Of course, this delay in launch could change at any moment.

NOOOOOO! We’re going in the last week of January and my daughter is Obsessed with space. She’s going to be so sad.
February 2020 *IS* during the winter of 2020… Technically, winter in 2020 goes from 1 January to 21 March, then from 21-31 December. So saying “opening winter 2020” would technically be correct if the opening were put off to 31 January, 2020. Not that I think it will be.
Err, that last should read 31 December, 2020…
actually, winter if 2020 means the winter that starts in 2020, seasons overlap, they don’t end on December 31. The Super Bowl is in January, so did New England win the 2019 championship since they played the game in January 3019? No, they won the 2018 championship because that’s when the season started. Each year has 4 season, not 5.

Gabby, if it’s truly opening in February, it’s probably unlikely to have any soft openings in January. But keep checking back for updates!

Dan: Seasons of the year have nothing to do with football season. By your definition, winter 2019 will run until 21 March, 2020. Also by your definition, winter 2020 won’t start until 21 December, 2020.
That’s not how Disney (and most other people) define it.
Please let us know when they start taking reservations for our upcoming Spring Vacation at Disneyworld.
