Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort has many recreational activities for you and your family to enjoy without ever leaving its enormous campgrounds!
But one of its activities you won’t be enjoying for quite a while is its horse-drawn carriage and wagon rides!
Due to Tri-Circle D Ranch being relocated, we confirmed with a Fort Wilderness Recreational Services Cast Member that Disney’s Fort Wilderness has suspended its carriage and wagon ride services for the time being. And since the brand new ranch isn’t expected to open until spring of 2020, it could be a long wait before you can catch a carriage or wagon ride again at this Disney World resort and campsite!
But not to fear — for the holiday season, you can still partake in a “One-Horse Open Sleigh Ride” and “Holiday Sleigh Rides” — which even comes with its own commemorative souvenir pin! Pony Rides are also still currently available but have been relocated to the Trail Blaze Corral.
The Cast Member we spoke with at Recreational Services also let us know construction happening at some of the nearby resorts is impacting the trails used by the horse-drawn carriages and wagons, so until the construction is finished, they won’t be able to use the paths.
We’ll keep you updated with any further information as it becomes available, but for now, you can drown your sorrow in some Hot Cocoa as you gaze at the nearby Disney Wilderness Lodge’s new Gingerbread Cabin display — see what we’re talkin’ about here!
