The wait is over! Rise of the Resistance has finally opened in Disney World, you guys!

And, Hollywood Studios is giving galactic travelers some extra time in the parks to celebrate the arrival of the new attraction!
Although the park usually opens at 9 AM, Hollywood Studios will start letting guests inside its gates at 8 AM beginning December 9th through January 4th!

Although you can already visit the parks at 8 AM for Extra Magic Hours on Sunday mornings (those Rise of the Resistance is not offered during Extra Magic Hours at this time!), the extended hours during the week are a great way to blast off on the new epic ride in Galaxy’s Edge (we’ve got our lightsabers ready to go!).

A friend of DFB was also able to get into the park as early as 6 AM on the opening day of Rise of the Resistance. It’s a possibility that Hollywood Studios may be doing this for Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land during the holiday season too!

If you’re visiting the parks this Christmas, you’ll definitely want to visit Hollywood Studios early, whether it’s to escape the First Order or glide along Slinky Dog Dash!

I was there today 12/6…not staying on property and got in at 6:30. I was in Boarding Group 24 and was called by 6:50. I got to ride Toy Story Mania 3 times in a row in that 20 minutes.

Can you get a boarding pass if you have fast passes in another park already that day?

Thank you for all of these wonderful tips! Rise of the Resistance is our priority when we’re there next week. I have what may be a silly question – having never done a rope drop before, how do we get to the park so early if we’re staying on site? Just drive ourselves? Thank you!
My mother in law has a disability. Can she get disability passes for resistance ride?
Deborah, we expect yes. We’ll confirm!
Andrea, most people will drive themselves or request a rideshare (Uber, Lyft, Minnie Van) to arrive super early. Buses from Resorts to Parks start running 45 minutes before Park opening.
Deborah, DAS pass is honored at Rise of the Resistance. You have to be in the park to get into a boarding group. Once your group is called and you get over to the ride, tell the cast members at the entrance that you have the DAS pass. They will help you from there. What we’ve heard (but not done ourselves) is that DAS will be sent through the FastPass line to reduce time in line, but your experience could differ.

We are staying at boardwalk and the only way to get to Hollywood was to walk. The boats were not running at 6 am. Best tip, have you whole party present if you want to ride together. As soon as all bands have been scanned get a boarding pass. And if you have mid day magic tickets they aren’t going to work for you to get on rise of the resistance. We did but we had to demand a little pixie dust since mid days only exclude special ticket events and am extra magic.
