Look, we’re not kidding around when it comes to our cheese, and warm, gooey plastic cheese is definitely a DFB favorite. We’ll dip anything in plastic cheese (hello, Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey’s Corner). So you can imagine our sheer delight when we spotted our beloved cheese sauce option at Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios. That’s right YOU CAN GET PLASTIC CHEESE WITH YOUR FRENCH FRIES.
A while back, Disney began advertising to guests at Backlot Express that they could “plus up” their french fries by adding cheese sauce on the side. We’ve definitely been guilty of asking for extra cheese sauce from time to time, and so you know, we were BIG fans of this addition. Now, we’re a few years down the road (and a pandemic later) and we’ve got a CHEESE UPDATE!
Cheese and fries at Backlot Express!
Good news everybody — you can still order plastic cheese at Backlot Express for just $1! We stopped by recently, placing a Mobile Order to grab some french fries, and lo and behold, a cup of plastic cheese was right below the fries on the mobile menu. Obviously, we had to order it and do some dipping action. (Because what kind of Disney food experts would we be if we didn’t?!)
Dip that cheese as much as you please!
And as an added bonus, we’ve got to tell you that these cheese cups are HUGE. Like, as big or bigger than the size of the palm of your hand. If you’re doing itty bitty dips with your fries, you might not even use it all. 😱
This was a BIG cup, y’all.
For those not stopping at Backlot soon, don’t worry — we’ve also seen the $1 cheese option on many menus at quick service spots. In Hollywood Studios, it’s on the menu at Woody’s Lunch Box and Rosie’s All-American Cafe too. We’re not saying you should choose your next Disney World meal based on the availability of plastic cheese, but also…we’re not NOT saying that. 😉
