Greetings from the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa!
Nearly every month Craftsman Grill releases a new hot dog, like the Wild Dog, which we’ve delighted to see has stuck around into 202o. We’re also happy to note that it can be found at Craftsman Bar, too. Now, we’re back to try the January hot dog of the month. And veggie lovers get ready, this one’s for you!
The Craftsman Grill hot dogs of the month aren’t always advertised. This time, we didn’t see a new hot dog on the menu for the month of January, so we simply asked! So if you’re not seeing this new addition on the menu, be sure to check with your server when you go.
This month’s hot dog is a vegetarian hot dog. It came served with lettuce on top and an aioli-type sauce. It’s definitely not the prettiest dog we’ve seen! The lettuce had a tendency to get a little soggy as time went on from the sauce, so the texture might not be for everyone. The bun it comes in is seasoned nicely with a variety of herbs and it’s very flavorful — definitely a highlight of this dish! That said, the flavor of the dog was…non-existant.
Much like the meatless Ronto-less Wrap at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, we are always intrigued by all the new plant-based options in Disneyland. But this might not be the best option for ya (get that meatless Ronto instead).
It was a little smaller than what we were expecting — you can eat it all in just a few bites! When you consider however that it’s served with french fries, the portion size becomes a little more realistic.
If you’re game, check out the hot dog of the month for the rest of January at Craftsman Bar AND Craftsman Grill for $10.50!
