Can you get Disney Parks food DELIVERED??? In our never-ending quest to discover new ways to consume Disney World food, we ran a few experiments today that we think you might be interested in hearing about… .
See, when we opened Postmates — a popular food delivery app — today, we caught sight of something we’d never seen before.
We went to place our lunch order using the app, and what did we spy with our little eyes other than Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in the list of Postmates’ possible options!!! Tony’s Town Square — as in THE Tony’s Town Square in THE MAGIC KINGDOM? Yes, friends. THAT TONY’S. We were absolutely stunned.
Whhhhaaaat was happening?? Maybe one too many trips on “it’s a small world” had FINALLY melted our brains?
And it wasn’t just Tony’s Town Square that showed up in the list of Postmates’ possibilities! We could also potentially order from Friars Nook, Jungle Navigation Skipper Canteen… the list of Disney World restaurants went on AND ON!
And sure enough, we were actually able to place our lunch order for Disney Parks food with Postmates! We were in total disbelief when it ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH. They’re going to go into the parks FOR US and BRING US OUR FOOD??? This is too good to be true!!!
Turns out…it kind of was. KIND OF. Stay with us.
So we waited. And we waited some more. We tried multiple times, placing several orders at various Disney World restaurants located inside the parks. And while all of our orders initially went through, each one of ’em failed. After a good 20-30 minutes, we were contacted by someone at Postmates who told us our orders couldn’t be fulfilled.
We were called by a customer representative in one instance, and also a Postmates driver who said he wasn’t being allowed into the Magic Kingdom because he didn’t have a ticket. (Ummm…dude. What did you expect?)
But that got us thinking — if the Postmates driver actually DID make it all way to the Magic Kingdom, and was denied access because he didn’t have a ticket, could we order food from Disney Springs where you don’t need a ticket? Sure enough — WE COULD!
We placed an order for Earl of Sandwich, one of our favorite Disney Springs spots; and it SHOWED UP! It did take a REALLY LONG TIME, THOUGH. We’re sayin’ this is more a “we’re in for the evening, not in any BIG hurry” sort of deal since it took about 2 hours for our food to arrive (your experience may vary). So you’ll have to decide how much you REALLY want that Full Montagu — you know what I’m sayin’?
In addition to taking forever, we caution you not to expect perfection. Even when our food finally got to us, it wasn’t all rainbows and puppies. We were lacking a critically necessary fork to eat our Mac and Cheese; and what, NO napkins? Clearly, Postmates still has some wrinkles to iron out, but — hey — despite our doubts (which were numerous) it ACTUALLY CAME, so PROPS anyway!
Now, it may not sound super-exciting to the folks who live near Disney World to have Disney Springs food delivered to your home, BUT — did we mention we had it delivered to our Disney World resort? Yes, DFB fam — we’re talking TOTAL VACATION GAME CHANGER! Earl of Sandwich rolled right up to us at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
But even though our Earl of Sandwich lunch order did arrive successfully, we still kinda have our doubts about this process. We contacted a few of the restaurants listed on Postmates to see if, in fact, they would deliver their food to us. When we spoke with a representative at Amorette’s Patisserie, she said she’d never heard of anyone using Postmates at their store. She said you can order a cake or dessert of theirs and have it delivered to any Disney Springs restaurant IF you have an advance dining reservation, but this is handled by Amorette’s Patisserie themselves. The didn’t know of any third-party service that will deliver their food when we asked.
Next, we called Sprinkles to see if they would deliver to our resort, and the representative we spoke with confirmed Postmates does deliver their cupcakes as well as the service DoorDash. They also told us Sprinkles themselves will deliver to a Disney World restaurant or resort instead of using a third-party vendor. They just ask that you contact the restaurant or resort first for approval. Sprinkles also has curbside delivery at their bakery.
We actually tried again a year later because we saw that Pongu Pongu at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was listed on Postmates, and again, we waited and waited, only to be told NOPE. Because, again, the driver didn’t have a theme park ticket (as expected). We even tried a similar experiment on GrubHub with the same result. You can read all about our more recent attempts here. So if you’re expecting Disney World theme park food delivered to your hotel room, you’re pretty much still out of luck.
We’ll keep you posted on how this story develops, but for now, you just might be able to enjoy Disney Springs eats delivered to your Disney World hotel! For the best results, we think it would be a good idea to call the restaurant to verify before placing your Postmates order! And we’d love to hear your experiences. If you try to have Postmates deliver Disney Springs eats to your hotel or Orlando-area home, let us know what happens! Your stories can help other Disney fans!

Postmates hasn’t actually contracted with any of the restaurants to deliver food. Thus thebfood isn’t packaged fir delivery when they pick it up. Buyer beware…
Mary Jo says
What if the delivery person had an annual pass? Could they then deliver food from the parks?
Kevin says
Postmates is different from other food delivery companies in that restaurants don’t have to agree to participate or install hardware or anything – the delivery person just actually goes to the restaurant and places a to-go order then brings it to you. That’s why restaurants sometimes don’t even know that it’s happening.

My daughter was at WDW in November and they used UberEats to have Earl or Sandwich delivered to their resort (Coronado Springs). She was so excited. And I was all… you’re at Disney World go get it yourself and enjoy the magic!
Patty says
I think the delivery person should get a giant tip. That is a lot to ask of someone since time is money for them. However, I do love the idea !!

I hope you tipped a ridiculous amount. I honestly can’t imagine it was worth it at all for that delivery person to find parking, walk all the way through disney springs, wait in that really long line that is always at earl of Sandwich and then drive over to the resort and wait for you in the lobby. How much did they earn from all that? Ten dollars if they’re lucky? That poor delivery driver probably had no idea what they were getting into. Also, I bet the next person that delivers from Disney Springs won’t even get a tip because the customer will be angry it took so long.
Danielle says
What about food from the different resorts?
Resty Sapuan says
How much longer until WDW takes this on as a premium service that they provide?
Katie says
We used Postmates to get Sprinkles cupcakes delivered to Coronado Springs, it did take awhile but it came and they were so good!
Lisa says
If the places in the parks are on the app they should be able to be delivered Why are they on there if they aren’t able to be utilized????
Daryl says
Curious to the outcome if that particular driver would have held a season pass to get into the park.
Tammy says
Oh my gosh parking alone for someone to get earls would be a pain! Yes they deserve a big tip!😂
Jackie says
If this became an option at park, sit-down dining locations, it going to make dining worse & food quality worse. The dining plan alone has diminished food quality & in some instances, the dining experience.
Kevin Parent says
How was the delivery price. The last time I used Postmates I had quite the sticker shock, as the food pricing on their site was also old. Bad experience, and unfortunately haven’t tried them again.
Jason says
It is too bad that WDW doesn’t start their own food delivery service. I’d think it would be easy to at least do this for Epcot since most of the restaurants back up to backstage, and if they limited delivery to adjacent properties then delivery would allow the food to be relatively fresh. In addition, during the festivals they could use ghost kitchens to also prep food that is in the various booths.

Yep, I see it now. Coming Summer of 2023 to Disney Resorts. Are you fried after spending 4 days slubbing 3 kids around 4 Disney parks. Today you just want to relax by your resort pool stay off your feet and soak up some of the FL sunshine. Only thing lacking is food options. You would love to be able to order delivery from from the parks and Disney Springs. Well now you can with Disney Eats. Disney’s new park to resort food delivery service.
