If you’ve ever planned a trip to Disney World, then you’ve probably spent A LOT of time on Disney World’s website researching the various parks, comparing the different resorts, and looking up ALL the tasty menus!
Here at DFB, we surf Disney World’s website often. And today, for the first time, we noticed a new feature had been added! Depending on your comfort level with navigating the website (which can be a bit tricky), this new option could be a game-changer! Here’s what the new feature is, and what we’ve found out about it!
There is a new option listed under the Disney World’s Help category at the bottom of the website called “CoBrowse.” We spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed for us today that it enables you to share your screen with them! The CoBrowse feature only works with a Cast Member using the website’s “Chat Function” which you’ll also see listed on the right-hand of the Help Center’s main page. If you don’t see it when surfing the website, you can click “Contact Us Now” and it should pop up.
It’s important to note the “Chat with a Cast Member” feature isn’t always available. We were on the Help Center page around lunchtime today and the Chat icon was grayed out, meaning we couldn’t click on it. When we hovered over it, we got this message telling us all Cast Members were currently busy.
However, when we were able to access the “Chat” feature later in the day, the Cast Member we were “chatting with” told us the new CoBrowse option helps them provide folks with additional assistance. The Cast Member you are communicating with will send you a code that you can copy and paste into the CoBrowse screen to allow them to view your computer screen remotely. For privacy reasons, the Cast Member cannot see anything you type, and they can only see your screen while you’re active on the Disney World website.
When we called the general assistance phone number for Disney World’s Guest Relations services, they weren’t aware of this new feature and let us know not all Cast Members were authorized to use it. We also talked with a technical support Cast Member who confirmed the CoBrowse function is new and only accessible by “Chat with a Cast Member” personnel. Therefore, you don’t want to call and speak to a Cast Member and ask them to remotely access your screen because they might not know what you’re talking about!
Since this feature is SUPER new, you may find yourself learning with the Cast Member. Many may not know the feature exists yet and like all new things, there may be a few kinks. But we think that this can be a great new addition for those seeking assistance when booking a trip, making a dining reservation, etc. We’ll keep on eye on this feature and let you know how it develops!
