With the dozens of attractions in Disney Parks around the country, it’s only inevitable that some will close for refurb every once in a while.
Well, for those of us lucky enough to grace the streets of Disney parks this week, it’ll be pretty helpful to know what we WON’T be riding! It’s Friday, so it’s time to look at everything that’s closed for refurbishment in Disney World and Disneyland. Check out all of the attractions, restaurants, and stores that are taking a vacation of their own for the week of February 3rd through February 9th!
Refurbishments in Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain
As usual, we’re starting off our check-in at Magic Kingdom where Splash Mountain remains behind barriers for the time being. This annual closure is to keep the historic attraction in good shape for years to come and we should be singing “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” again on February 28th.

Walt Disney World Railroad
Surprisingly enough, we DID see some movement from the Walt Disney World Railroad this week but don’t get too excited. The train was moved from Main Street Station to Fantasyland Station but is still not circling the park during the day. TRON Lightcycle Run construction continues and as always we’re hoping for a reopening date a little earlier than the expected 2021. We can dream, right?! In the meantime, head over to Fantasyland for a photo op with the Lilly Belle!

Refurbishments in Epcot
Test Track and Test Track SIMporium
Test Track and Test Track SIMporium remain closed over in Epcot. We’re always checking in on construction so keep an eye on the blog for updates as you wait for the scheduled February 26th reopening!

Refurbishments in Hollywood Studios
Muppet*Vision 3D
The new closure from last week continues at Muppet*Vision 3D in Hollywood Studios! In fact, we’ve even seen the removal of the Miss Piggy Fountain from the courtyard in front! Still, things seem to be coming along as the theatre is set to reopen this week! So, if you have any Disney days starting February 8th, you should be able to hang with Kermit and the gang!

Refurbishments in Animal Kingdom
Kali River Rapids
And for the last closure in the main Disney World parks, we’re over in Animal Kingdom. There appears to be some heavy lifting going on over at Kali River Rapids (check out that crane!) as the refurb slowly progresses towards its set March 21st reopening date.

Refurbishments in Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
If you love nothing more than a water park in winter (hey, you do you), then you’ll have to look elsewhere than Typhoon Lagoon. The park is undergoing its routine winter maintenance and won’t reopen until mid-March-ish. Blizzard Beach is under normal operating conditions though, but remember, the water parks are prone to closure if temperatures get too low.
Refurbishments in Disneyland
Haunted Mansion
Alright, let’s take a quick hop across the country and check out what the refurb scene is in Disneyland! First, there are a few historic attractions undergoing refurbishment in Disneyland Park. Haunted Mansion is down to remove the holiday overlay (which is now gone from the exterior) and to improve mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. We’ll be riding with the ghost host again this Spring.
Check out everything we know about the Haunted Mansion closure!
Snow White’s Scary Adventures
Strolling over to Fantasyland, there’s a BIG OL’ scrim in place to hide the work being done on Snow White’s Scary Adventures. This historic attraction is actually receiving a new scene and vignette so there will be a significant change to the ride experience. A reopening date has yet to be announced but we expect this closure to be on the longer side.

King Arthur Carrousel
And Fantasyland is pretty covered in construction barriers and scrim right now because just across the way, King Arthur Carrousel is receiving some TLC. The reopening date for this classic is TBA too so we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground.

Mark Twain River Boat
Good news for later-in-the-week travelers! February 7th should mark the reopening of Mark Twain River Boat according to Disney’s refurbishment calendar!
Refurbishments in California Adventure
Grizzly River Run and Rushin’ River Outfitters
Popping over to California Adventure, Grizzly River Run and Rushin’ River Outfitters remain closed for their seasonal “Park Beautification Project.” We should see this ride reopen next week though on February 14th!
Red Car Trolley
Of course, Avengers Campus continues to work towards the Summer 2020 opening season, and that means that Red Car Trolley is out of commission in the meantime.

Refurbishments in Downtown Disney District
Jamba
Even Downtown Disney has a closure this week! Jamba is getting a whole new look right now and that means no juice for you! Well, not from here anyway. The location is set to reopen sometime this year.

And with Carthay Circle reopening in California Adventure, that’s all the closures in Disney World and Disneyland this week! We’ll let you know if anything changes.

Hi, Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate all the information you provide for WDW. I remember the days when we would go and be able to ride everything in 2 days😂. Not anymore. It takes allot of reconnaissance work. Lol. I purchased your e-book and saved it to my kindle books. I go in to read it for my new books to read and I just get the Front page. Have I done something wrong?
Your time is appreciated 💙
