It’s the 70th anniversary of Cinderella (and we STILL love Cindy just as much)!
And, while we got nothin’ wrong with the Disney Princesses, the newest treat in Disney World is kind of weirding us out a little… .
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake has made its magical arrival into Magic Kingdom, and — yes — it is BEAUTIFUL.
The citrus almond cake is topped with a lemon-scented Bavarian mousse, filled with blueberry compote, and adorned with golden chocolate wheels.
But listen. We have to warn you about something.
This is NOT a cake. Not even close. It JIGGLES, y’all!
While Main Street Bakery and the subsequent Starbucks used to be all about fancy cupcakes, they’ve recently switched to fancy desserts, prioritizing panna cotta-like substances and layered puddings over cake and frosting. And this is DEF one of those.
Holding it up in front of the castle for a photo was a dangerous adventure! Check out our instagram post to see the WIGGLE!
So after taking our photos and videos, we cut inside. The Bavarian mousse only has a light lemon taste, while the blueberry compote is the prominent flavor inside. And it really is delicious — as long as you’re NOT expecting a cake and you ARE expecting something totally different from a cake ;-D! The blueberry is super refreshing.
But, yes, there IS a “sort of” cake included. The citrus almond cake actually reminds us of a cookie, though, with how dense it is. It really just serves as the base of the dessert, and doesn’t play into it much at all. Which means they totally should NOT call this a cake. Call it a mousse, Disney. That’s what it is.
While we do wish it had a little more time to set so it could have been a bit firmer (we waited a few hours until it finally came out, which makes us think that maybe there were some issues in the kitchen), the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake ($6.99) is still worth a carriage ride over to the Main Street Bakery.
Just know before you go what to expect. And make sure your sweet kiddos aren’t expecting cake, either. ;-D

This is exactly like the constance’s wedding cake they had at MNSSHP, it had the jiggly mouse. New trend?

Blech, I’m glad I saw this post before trying it. Not a fan of jiggly desserts. It’s a shame, cause it’s so pretty and I would’ve definitely gotten one 😔
Beth says
Are the carriage wheels chocolate? I would imagine they don’t jiggle 😝

Do we know of this is a snack credit. I would assume not but just curious.
DFB Sarah says
Disney Mom of 5, it wasn’t labeled as snack credit eligible, unfortunately.

Beth, yes, they are. And not jiggly — correct. 🙂
