While Disneyland might be the Happiest Place on Earth, sometimes disaster strikes (uh oh).
Since the parks are all about the health and safety of their guests. Tonight, a small fire broke out backstage near Main Street, U.S.A., and it’s no surprise that crews and firefighters arrived on the scene quickly to take care of the situation.
Although it was promptly put out by crew members, a fire erupted Thursday night in Disneyland. And, thanks to @the.house.of.wildflowers, we’re able to share with you a look inside the park while it was happening!
According to our own reporter that was visiting during the time, guests weren’t fully aware of the situation while they were in the parks. As she was in Adventureland, the power started going out around the area until there weren’t even work lights visible. However, the situation was quickly fixed and service lights were turned on, including the glow sticks used by Cast Members.
Due to the nature of the situation, officials closed off everything from Jolly Holiday to the Pirates of the Caribbean bridge to keep guests safe. All the stores on the Frontierland side of the parks were closed as well.
According to ABC Los Angeles, no injuries or damage were reported from the fire (and we are so thankful!). While we aren’t sure what caused the fire, we’ll keep you updated with more information!

We were stuck in the queue for ROTR when this was happening and we had no idea! We were in line for 3 hours, so yea fun times. But still, by the time we were heading out, we ran into Adventureland and Jolly Holiday being closed and not knowing why! Then I saw this the next day and realized what we missed while basically being underground lol!

Wow – that doesn’t look like a “small” fire. Glad everyone was safe and Disneyland wasn’t hurt!! Bravo to the quick acting fire department.
