It’s the first night of 2020 dates for Disney Villains After Hours in Magic Kingdom and we’re feeling especially WICKED!
We had a “bad” time at Villains After Hours in 2019, so of course, we’re back again this year! In fact, we wouldn’t miss this year’s party since there are over 10 NEW villainous new treats to try! In between tasting Body Language, the Royal Majesty cake pop, and the Just Take Three beignets, we HAD to check out this year’s sinister entertainment! So, here’s a rundown of ALL of the stuff you’ll get to see and do at this year’s Disney Villains After Hours — including the all-new Villains Cursed Caravan!
Maleficent and the Villains Cursed Caravan
The Maleficent float is out and about again this year, and her temper is as FIERY as ever!
However, this year, she’s joined by a brand new band of Disney baddies called the Villains Cursed Caravan.
This mini-parade features Gaston on horseback…
…Oogie Boogie, the Bowler Hat Guy (!)…
…the Big Bad Wolf…
…Lady Tremaine in a carriage (with Anastasia and Drizella chasing not far behind!)…
…Cruella with her henchmen, Horace and Jasper…
…the Queen of Hearts with her marching set of cards…
…and Ursula making her debut with Flotsam and Jetsam for all you poor unfortunate souls out there!
We’re feeling especially creeped out to our rotten cores since the Caravan will be going around Magic Kingdom twice nightly. During the first caravan, there will be a loop around the castle as the characters travel back to Frontierland. And, then the regular route will take place at the end of the night, where a few villains will make a terrifying appearance at the train station like last year!
Villains Unite the Night
The Villains Unite the Night show is back this year at Cinderella Castle with Hades, Meg, The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, Jafar, and a few other familiar fiendish faces.
This show runs approximately 20-minutes long and you don’t want to miss it if you haven’t seen it yet!
Each Villain gets a chance to shine and take over the look of the Castle behind Hades and his crew!
We loved the fire (and fire twirlers!) throughout the show!
While this show is shorter than last year’s, it certainly packs a punch! It’s the same story, but with even MORE fireworks, dancers, and pyrotechnics!
Villainous Ride Enhancements
We love a good ride overlay (especially when its bad!), and this party features evil additions to two Magic Kingdom classics! At Pirates of the Caribbean, you can say “Ahoy” to Captain Barbossa (but be sure not to mention The Black Pearl).
With a couple Cast Members in costume throughout the ride! Yep, this guy isn’t an animatronic here!
And, on Space Mountain, you’ll be able to listen to some wicked jams on the ride while villains will be saying some of their most iconic lines – in complete darkness! (“Off with your heads,” friends!)
Plus, gotta love those shorter-than-normal After Hours wait times!
Dastardly DJ
Like with most of the After Hours parties in Disney World, there’s plenty of opportunities to slip on your dance pants and boogie with a live DJ stationed in front of the castle between Villains Unite the Night performances!
You can listen to wicked tunes playing in front of Cinderella Castle off and on throughout the evening!
Themed Photo Ops
There are also some exclusive villain-themed photo opportunities! We didn’t spot any PhotoPass Photographers at these Photo Ops but hopefully, they’ll appear in the future as they would be a huge benefit for capturing some awesome pics! Guests are encouraged to share their photos on social media using #VillainsAfterHours
This year, the Queen of Hearts will be greeting victims (er, guests) at the Mad Tea Party.
And Scar is far away from the Pride Lands, all the way in Adventureland!
There are also some more simple backdrops to capture a memory of your villainous night in front of!
Plus, you can also take some selfies with interactive backgrounds. And, you never know which bad guys or gals might make a cameo-appearance in your Magic Shot — consider this a warning!
Mood Music and Lighting
And of course, you can get EVEN MORE into the evil spirit of the night with the special park lighting and music that gives the night a super crooked and wrongful undertone — it’s a MOOD!
Cinderella Castle is simply STUNNING with a creepy combination of lighting and projection mapping. We gotta say, it’s a good look for her!
Even Rapunzel’s Tower is looking awfully spooky!
Unfortunately, this event doesn’t offer any guests the chance to meet the Villains, but you CAN EAT THEM! Check out our reviews of the Poor Unfortunate Souls float, the Voodoo Magic drink, and the Five Dozen Egg Slush for a taste of what we found! Now if we could vanish into an evil cloud of green smoke (wouldn’t that be cool?!) we would but instead, we’ll just say bye for now!

JN says
I would LOVE to go to this after hours event, but the price is just too high! When will Disney max out these constant increases? I’m very close to financially having to quit going to Disney all together because of them. Plus, now I miss out on these events.
