With the Epcot transformation bringing some MAJOR construction to the park, it looks like it’s finally time to say goodbye to the Electric Umbrella.

While it appeared for some time that the originally slated construction on the restaurant was delayed, the Future World area (where Electric Umbrella is located) is currently undergoing a redesign for the AMAZING new Epcot!
And as of today, the Walt Disney World website is listing updated hours for the quick service location. You’ll see in the screenshot below that Electric Umbrella will be open from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM on February 15, 2020.

However, for dates starting February 16, 2020, the page reads “No Times Available.”

It is worth noting, however, that the webpage has seen changes on this possible closing date from time to time. Still, with the website noting a closing “this winter” regardless, it does seem that the time may be upon us.
Electric Umbrella has been a staple quick-service location in Epcot with its chicken nuggets, burgers, desserts, and other eats, and we’ll miss grabbing a burger and fries underneath the glow of those perfectly retro-Epcot neon umbrellas inside.

Not to mention the lovely covered seating area outside, from which we enjoyed the view of the Fountain of Nations many a time (well, before the Fountains were closed, too, that is…).

Still… though we’ll be without the ol’ Umbrella, we won’t be without a few classic quick service eats while in Epcot. Counter Service staples like Chicken Breast Nuggets, Flatbreads, and more are newly available at the Epcot Experience.

We’re also eagerly awaiting a new counter-service eatery in The American Adventure Pavilion with the Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue. It’s all part of an ever-changing Epcot! Remember Disney often changes the closing dates for locations, so we will keep you posted on whether Electric Umbrella officially meets its end this weekend. Be sure to check back for updates!

This was the best place for picky eaters as well as the all you can drink fountains I’m super sad to see this go – there’s not much I can eat at Epcot once this is gone.
The Electric Umbrella was the best place to eat in the park! My picky kids could always agree on eating there! It was also nice to have a covered outside dining area on crowded hot days! I hope they design a new eating area that is comparable somewhere in the park! 🙁

I have heard a lot about The Electric Umbrella and I am very excited about trying it out there. I am a very bad picky eater and I prefer everything to be right. With all the praise from my friends and family, I am finally going to try for it not just for food but also for the ambiance. Just super excited.
