Sonoma Terrace is getting in on the action this year at the 2020 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival!
While this lounge normally serves PLENTY of drinks and a few bar snacks, we’re trying out some mainstays and the new selections, which will be served from February 28 until April 21, 2020, to celebrate all things food and wine!
Food
Sonoma Terrace will be serving up their regular menu items, the Italian Meatball Sandwich and Bavarian Pretzel with Cheese Sauce.
Let’s try the Bavarian Pretzel first! Priced at $6.99, it’s pretty much your standard pretzel. We (*obviously*) splurged the extra .99 for the cheese cup. If you need to carb up while drinking your way around the fest, it’s a pretty good way to do so!
We also had to try the Italian Meatball Sandwich! Priced at $10.49, the sandwich features Italian Meatballs, Trattoria Chunky Marinara, and Melted Mozzarella on a Freshly Baked Italian Roll.
While we think it may not the best thing to eat in the blazing afternoon sun, this was really delicious and pretty huge if you come with an appetite (but be careful not to full up if you’re looking to try some other festival bites).
But, we still have room to try the brand new California Cheesesteak! Priced at $11.50, this sandwich is made with Thinly Sliced Beef is topped with Grilled Onions, Bell Peppers, Jalapeños, Avocado Spread and Melted Oaxaca Cheese.
Note of warning: these are not made-to-order and come pre-packaged from a warmer (just like the meatball sandwich). While it had lots of flavors and the bread was still crispy for us, this could potentially not be the case if it’s sitting in the heater for an extended period of time.
After cheese, cheese, and more cheese, we are looking forward to pairing our wine with something a little sweeter. Perhaps the new Triple Chocolate Brownie! Priced at $7.50, we though this was delicious and we would definitely call it more of a mousse than a brownie.
While quite rich, the highlight was the layer of chocolate crunchies on the bottom!
Triple cheese and triple chocolate– we can’t complain with the eats here!
Drinks
Cocktails (Alcoholic)
During the festival, Sonoma Terrace is pouring up festival-exclusive items that make us want to take a trip up the Golden Coast! Priced at $15.00, The Sandy Beach features Green Apple Vodka with flavors of Sea Salt Caramel. We have to admit the name and visual appearance alone are a little off-putting. Sadly, it didn’t taste that great either. We’ll leave the sand to the beaches.
The Catalina Island is made with Vodka, Passion Fruit, and flavors of Raspberry Lemonade and Lime. Priced at $13.00, the tangy fruit flavors already has us planning our next beach vacay! This was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and not too sour!
They are also serving up their regular drink menu. Priced at $14.00, The Sparkling Greyhound comes straight from a can. While it is obviously prepackaged, it is a light and refreshing beverage with emphasis on the grapefruit flavor.
We saved our favorite for last — the Pineapple Passion! Priced at $14.00, this was soooo refreshing and the perfect fuel for us as we ran around under the warm SoCal sun. The White Rum paired nicely with the flavors of Pineapple and Passion Fruit Juice.
Wine, Beer and Ciders
If wine is more your style, Sonoma Terrace has some tasty (and beautiful) drinks to pair with all that cheese! Grab the Firestone Walker Rosalie Beer Rosé (whaaaat?), Francis Ford Coppola Winery’s Sofia, Brut Rosé from Monterey County, or Chandon Brut, Sparkling Wine from California. Or if you need something a little more hearty to go with your pretzel, they will also serve a selection of Craft Beers and Ciders!
We came back to Sonoma Terrace for the pretzel and cheese but we stayed for the Pineapple Passion! We always love to see park restaurants join in on the festivals and we think Sonoma Terrace’s festival selections might even deserve a booth of their own!
