Even though the sun is shining brightly over Disney World right now, things feel a little sullen in Tomorrowland!
And if you’re wondering why you don’t see one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic rides zipping along right now it’s because it’s closed!
After experiencing mechanical issues with Haunted Mansion over the weekend (which then trickled into yesterday), now the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has unexpectedly shut down!
We’re not exactly sure what caused the disruption which happened yesterday (the attraction has been closed since), but it looks like the issue still hasn’t been resolved. [UPDATE: The PeopleMover remained closed on March 11, and as of midday March 12, 2020, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover remains temporarily closed. As of the morning of March 13, 2020, the PeopleMover has remained closed.]
Since this sudden closure wasn’t scheduled, we’re hoping PeopleMover will be back on track soon!
After all, PeopleNotMoving doesn’t have quite the same ring to it!

We’ll keep a watchful eye on the PeopleMover and let you know when we see it up and runnin’ again by updating this post. Stay tuned!

WE KNOW DISNEY.
YOU CAN, TOO.
Do you enjoy riding the PeopleMover? Let us know if this is one of your Disney World must-dos in the comments below!
My last three trips, the Carousel of Progress was “temporarily closed…very disappointed. We don’t spend much time at MK so it’s like a one shot deal.
Went on Carousel of Progress last week, only 6 people in theater. Haunted Mansion was closed though. Managed to catch People Mover, too, thankfully.
And if you’re wondering why you don’t see one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic rides zipping along right now, HERE’S WHY!
In the line above, you state you know why the ride is closed. You then go on to say:
We’re not exactly sure what caused the disruption which happened yesterday (the attraction has been closed since), but it looks like the issue still hasn’t been resolved.
Why do you people continually state in headlines for posts or the first couple of lines of the actual post (which are visible from the list of posts) that you KNOW something, then when one actually reads the post, it turns out you don’t know ANYTHING. It is very annoying, and incredibly bad journalism.
There is no need for this site to use such click-baity tactics. If you don’t know why something is happening, don’t imply or outright state you do know.
All that said, I (and others) have said it before. I guess it just falls on deaf ears.
Was at MK on March 9. The Haunted Mansion was running but the PeopleMover was not. First trip since 1986 that I was unable to ride my favorite!
It seems to me more and more rides are closing for mysterious reasons hmm seems like sabotage to me..This is not normal.
As of a few minutes ago, People Mover is not listed at all on the Wait Times in Disney Park app. Usually it has a closed-ride star and the “temporarily closed” notice. Odd.
