Updated: May 3rd to reflect extended dates.
Last May, Jaleo by Chef José Andrés joined the Disney Springs dining scene. The location is in addition to other Jaleo locations in cities such as Washington, D.C., Bethesda, Maryland, and more.
During this time of temporary closures, Chef Jose Andres announced that his locations in the Washington, D.C. area would be repurposed as “community kitchens” with a limited takeout menu available at flexible pricing. And now, Chef Andrés has announced an additional way to help people affected by closures.
A post by JaleobyJose on Instagram shares how individuals may help Jaleo employees during this time. A special e-gift card program has been created which allows individuals to purchase gift cards at 20% off, with all the money going directly towards Jaleo employees.
The post shares that half of the funds will be used to extend pay and benefits beyond two weeks, and half will go towards the ThinkFamilyFund, which provides relief to the team and their families in the instance of financial hardship.

Thanks for this. I live in the DC area, and Jaleo is one of our favorites.
Jose Andres is a great humanitarian. He has volunteered and funded work in Puerto Rico after the hurricane and in other disasters. Of course he is coming up with ways to help in our current crisis.
If any of my fellow DC area DFB fans haven’t been to Jaleo, I encourage you to consider this terrific offer and look forward to some great food when we are able to go out again.
