Like the rest of the Walt Disney World hotels, Shades of Green, a Disney World resort for military members and families has closed its doors temporarily.
Owned by the United States Department of Defense, the resort is located near Magic Kingdom.
Shades of Green released the following statement today on their website, “Despite our best efforts to serve guests through this situation, it is now apparent that this crisis requires collective action to slow its progression in the United States. Guests will be asked to return to their home station as soon as they can make the necessary travel arrangements. We are waiving any cancellation or early departure fees for reservations during this time.”
At this time, Shades of Green has also stated, they “will continue to accept reservations for new arrivals after May 15th.” If you have any questions regarding an upcoming trip, you can email Shades of Green at [email protected].
So far, Disney World Resort is still expected to reopen on April 1st, but given the orders that have been enacted for Osceola and Orange County, we may very well see Disney World’s temporary closure extended. We’ll be sure to let you know when and if Disney releases and official statement.

So sad. Shades is basically my home away from home. I’m glad they are doing the right thing for guests and their employees.
