Even though we were pretty bummed when Disney World and Disneyland recently extended their temporary closures, we were hoping maybe some good news might come out of it for Annual Passholders.
You see, recently Universal Studios also announced they were postponing their reopening, but they told their Annual Passholders monthly payments were being deferred. We were wondering if something similar would happen for Disney’s Annual Passholders, too!
Buuuut so far, nothing’s changed for Disney World or Disneyland AP members. As it stands, Annual Passholders on monthly plans are still expected to pay for their monthly payments, but we’d really like to see Disney address this situation.
Luckily, both Disney World and Disneyland have announced they’ll be extending their annual memberships for however many days the parks remain closed. So, the money isn’t wasted by any means, but it can be difficult for families to continue making payments in the midst of the current events for parks they can’t visit right now. Well keep you posted just in case anything changes, but for now, you better keep making those monthly payments!

Doesn’t this apply to Florida Residents Only? I’ve been an AP Holder for years, and have NEVER been informed about Monthly t Payments. In Fact, I’ve been Told that there is a Florida State Law That doesn’t allow it.

I’m a Fl resident AP holder and I haven’t been informed of a payment break. Waiting
Shellie says
I like to think that my AP payments now are helping them pay the hourly staff who can’t work now. That makes it a little easier to swallow. However once they stop paying them yeah maybe give AP’s a pause.
Channon says
I have spoken with cast members about my monthly payments being delayed. While they are still taking payments they are allowing partial payments as well for those who can’t afford it all at once.
Gloria says
Yes, definitely should give Florida Resident AP a break. Pause payments.
JoAnn says
Yes they just took my monthly payment last week and seems unfair to pay without park being open I understand they will extend our contracts but why have to pay at all during these times when people are unemployed and can’t even pay their basic bills
Especially now when it’s so uncertain when the parks will be able to open

It would be Nice if we got an answer to our Questions.

as a FL resident passholder also, what concerns me is the type of pass. We just renewed in early March and went with weekday select, I know they will be extended all passes etc for the amount of time closed, and thats fine but the problem is once they do reopen in early June, if they do, then the passes immediately go on block for the whole summer….so were paying months and months on something we cant use again at all till late August…So I think they should either maybe lift part of that block or defer the payments, I dont mind paying per month and not being able to use it a month or two etc, but now were talking not till the end of August with the way things are looking schedule wise..so it does concern me if they dont do something. That would be 6 months of payments and not being able to use it.

I sent an e-mail on this to the guest services asking the same question. I really think all passholders should have the payments deferred afterall not only do many of us have passes that have blocked out dates which include most of the summer they are high. I have a Busch Gardens Sr Platinum Pass I have had since 2008 and I pay by the month. The price has not changed since then and won’t unless I cancel the payment plan and ever decided to sign again which I will never cancel it as it is good for every one of their parks in the Country. That is a total of 11 parks. I have been to 5 of them already. The difference in the monthly plan between Disney & Busch Gardens/SeaWorld is that you don’t

To my post above I clicked to submit it before I finished it. To go from where the above post ended if you are on a monthly plan with BG/SW you do not renew each year they continue to take the payment each month until you decide you don’t want it anymore for whatever reason that is the only time it would go if you cancel and then down the road decide you want it again it will cost you the prevailing amount at that time. The pass I have with them I have free preferred parking in the Florida Parks that have it and 20% discount on EVERYTHING I PURCHASE IN THE PARK ANYWHERE EVEN KIOSKS. Disney’s cost for the Weekday Select is nearly twice the amt for 4 parks and the Discount is not accepted many places in the park. Certainly not the Kiosks. It is on Merchandise but not on food. As I sid BG/SW is on everything I purchase in the park no matter where.

I am a FL annual passholder and I received an email stating that monthly payments will continue to be taken. My pass will be extended when it is suppose to expire. So example WDW stays closed for 2 months and my pass expires in June. It will extend to August. I hope this helps.

I’ve started a change.org petition to ask Disney to temporarily suspend annual passholder payments like Universal has done until the parks reopen. This helps so many of us that are suddenly unemployed during this scary time. That money is needed by many right now simply for survival. Please sign the petition at:
