Back when Disney World’s temporary closure first began, we noticed the American flag still appeared to be flying high on Main Street, U.S.A. across from the entrance to Magic Kingdom.
Even though the Disney parks were absent of people, we could feel the strong presence of the star-spangled banner still being flown, and we hope you did too.
And today, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, Josh D’Amaro confirmed on his Instagram @joshdamaro that Disney World Security Cast Members are still raising and lowering the American flag every day to help guide people at home through these times.
D’Amaro also shared these words of encouragement, “It’s a symbol that we’re still here and will not falter. I hope this inspires you as well. We will be back. Thanks to all our incredible Cast Members who continue to maintain the magic until that day. Until then, please take care of yourselves and your families. We will see you soon.”
If you’d like the see Magic Kingdom’s flag ceremony, you can watch a video of it here:
While we’ll have to wait for all the sweet aromas of Mickey Ice Cream Bars and Krispy Treats to fill the air again, and to see fireworks fill the night sky above the Magic Kingdom, just know that our flag is still there, right this moment at Disney World. United we stand for then, now, and always.

Red Robin Phillips says
I was wondering if they still played the music at the Parks. Just to let the park know it’s not abandoned. I’m so pleased and touched that they have the flag raising ceremony each day. Noted that they were standing 6 feet apart. Good for them. Thank you.
