Update: As of April 17th, the governor has allowed some beaches and parks to reopen. Gatherings of 50 or more people are prohibited and social distancing must be practiced.
A little over a week ago residents of Orange county followed shortly by Osceola county went under orders to stay at home. Walt Disney World Resort resides between these two jurisdictions.
But today, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced a 30-day stay at home order for all of Flordia. This order begins on April 2nd at midnight.
Previously, Florida’s Governor had ordered the state’s bars to close and limited the occupancy and sale of alcohol at most restaurants. These guidelines were amended a week later ordering all of Florida’s restaurants to offer only take-out of delivery of their food.
According to Orlando Sentinel, until now Florida was the only state with over 5,000 confirmed cases to not limit the movement of its residents. Last week, over 30 states enacted stay at home orders including California, Illinois, and New York. While a good number of Florida residents were already under stay at home orders issued by their local county officials, non-essential travel is now banned for the state in its entirety.
Disney World is currently closed until further notice and this Florida stay at home order is currently in place until May 2nd.
We will continue to update you as this situation continues to unfold.

Not that is probably makes that much difference, but the Florida Stay at Home Order is scheduled to end on April 30 not May 2 according to the official decree posted on line. Thank you for all the updates during this difficult time.
