Universal Orlando Resort closed their theme parks around the same time as Disney with the closures beginning on March 15th. Since then, the closures have already been extended once through April 19th.
Now, as we near the previous reopening date, Universal has made a pretty significant extension to closures in Orlando. The closure is extended through at least May 31st as the resort continues to monitor the current health situation.
In a statement, Universal Orlando resort explained that Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Citywalk would all remain closed through at least the end of May. All of the Universal Orlando Resort Hotels are also closed during this time. This goes for Universal Hollywood as well.
In the statement, Universal said, “We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed, based on guidance from health agencies and government officials.” We will be sure to keep an eye out for any of these adjustments so that we can report in.
