It’s true — there isn’t much happening at Disney World these days, but there IS still something going on there!
And while this Mickey-shaped sandtrap might make you think we mean golf, we actually have a different, more unusual “something” in mind!
We’re heading to Disney’s Oak Trail course which is actually still open!
You’re still thinking we’re going golfing, aren’t you??? Well, we promise we aren’t! At least — not in the traditional sense!
We’ve actually signed up for “tee time” to putt with our feet in a round of FootGolf! Think soccer meets golf where your legs are the only golf clubs you’ll need!
And your “golf ball” is actually the size of a soccer ball (because, it is, in fact, a SOCCER BALL!) Plus, the friendly Cast Members who helped us today made sure they were freshly sanitized. They were on the top with their game making sure everyone stayed safe while also having fun!
There are 9 holes to play through on Disney’s Oak Trail FootGolf course. Each hole is clearly marked and has “par,” just like regular golf! Just so you know, Disney estimates it takes about an hour and half for a group of four to play one full round of FootGolf!
In fact, there’s even a scorecard and everything! This game is almost exactly like golf — except that everything’s a lot BIGGER!
Even the holes themselves are bigger! It kinda feels like we shrunk down in size!
I mean, that’s either one ginormous hole in one, or we’re losing our grip with reality!
FootGolf is being offered on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. You can book and pay online for your round of FootGolf instead of going to the golf shop. Cast Members are asking all guests to stay six-feet apart and they’re also making sure all of the equipment is being fully sanitized.
There’s also a Kicker’s Club Loyalty Program (which is for kiddos) rewards you with a free round of FootGolf after you play five rounds in 90 days.
If you’re going a little stir crazy and have some energy to burn (and live in the Orlando area!!), we think you’d get a real KICK out of FootGolf!

That is so cool! Is this a regular feature at Oak Trail or just something the course added due to the coronavirus-caused drop in business? I’ve never heard about this before, and we’ve been to WDW a lot (although not to golf, I must admit).

I’ve played this 9 hole walking course and it’s really cool they have made it a foot golf course for an outdoor opportunity during this quarantine. We saw deer and other FL wildlife while playing. Guess it’s harder to lose a soccer ball!

Golfers don’t ruin soccer fields with golf balls. Why do we need to ruin golf courses with soccer balls? I hate this
Dave says
Well Nicole, we are a big soccer family and have played it a ton of times. Believe it or not, most of the holes are in rough areas or between holes so a lot of the wear/tear is off the fairways and course. And being a golfer I had the same opinion initially many yrs ago. Most don’t wear their soccer cleats so its just like a caddie wearing his tennis shoes when caddying on tour, doesn’t mess up the fairways and in foot golf the course doesn’t get close to any of the greens. Obviously you should be somewhat coordinated in kicking a soccer ball semi decently distance wise. It really is most fun for soccer players and if you play both soccer and golf like me, its really fun!!

Do the cast members get masks or gloves? Obviously they have to get closer than 6 feet to visitors to pass over the equipment and go over the rules of the course. I think it is great to have a socially distant way to get out and have fun, but I’m hoping the CMs are protected. Speaking as a physician on the front lines in a hot spot.
