It looks like the Cannucks will be advancing into the next round with Le Cellier Steakhouse — while SHOCKINGLY Garden Grill has beaten out Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the first battle! We bet Farmer Mickey is laughing it up right now while the Disney princesses are pretty bummed!

It looks like the French are fairing much better in Table Service Throw Down than they did in our last Quick Service tournament in which they were eliminated early on. Chefs de France has pulled through and we’re gonna make it rain French Onion Soup to celebrate!

Via Napoli has taken down Mama Melrose’s, but Hollywood Studios’ Sci-Fi Dine-In and 50’s Prime Time Cafe have clapped back! Too bad for them, they’ll be going up against each other in round two!

And Chef Mickey’s is putting on its war paint right now to throw down against ‘Ohana tonight! This one’s sure to be one for the history books! We can’t wait to see who’ll emerge from this vicious food fight!

Who voted for these?? Boma is one of the best restaurants on property, especially their breakfast!
Wow. A lot of quality restaurants eliminated in the first round. I like Yak and Yeti, but Tiffins is in a class by itself. Skippers Canteen also has such a nice variety of different dishes instead of the standard buffet fare. I guess the poll just backs up the view that the majority of WDW guests prefer basic dishes rather than more varied and culturally diverse offerings.
Putting California Grill against Citricos in the first round renders this “competition” as worthless.
Better to survey Disney foodies as to their favorites and then seed a bracket.
Yes, CG and Citricos are our favorites and often swap places.
I realize it is tough to set this up and nothing is perfect, but two venues at the same resort should not have faced off in the opening round. Narcoosee’s and Victoria & Alberts is the only case of this occurring and should have been avoided. I’m glad to see that some of the very best restaurants lost in the first round so that they won’t receive new exposure and crowds in the future! Citricos and Wine Bar George are consistently two of the best dining experiences on property..
A few more thoughts. After using something like SurveyMonkey to seed a bracket, collect some basic demographics about those voting within the bracket. Families seeking character encounters might vote differently than would Seniors. It would also be interesting to see if the opinions of those “across the pond” would be different from those of us “in the colonies.” For those of us not using Instagram, another method of voting would be appreciated.
I know you are trying to keep the spark alive while the gates are closed, but please try to do this in a proper fashion.
